Introducing The Sassy Mama Dubai Awards 2016

The inaugural 2016 Sassy Mama Dubai Awards are here and it’s time to unveil your favourite spots in the city! We want to know where you and your family shop, eat, play and so much more, so we can tally up the votes and award the winners with the Sassy Mama stamp of approval!

Our award categories are listed with no pre-determined voting options, because we want you to tell us exactly who you think is the cream of the crop. The voting survey only takes about two minutes and you can fill it out below.

Scroll down to enter the survey.

AND YOU CAN WIN! We love giving away prizes at Sassy Mama and as a little thank you for taking part, everyone who completes the survey will be in with the chance to win an amazing two-night stay for a family of four (two adults and two kids up to the age of 12) at Fairmont The Palm, Dubai on a B&B basis. Included is daily access to the kids club, one AquaSpin session and a couple’s spa treatment at Willow Stream Spa. Fairmont The Palm is the perfect luxurious family resort overlooking the Dubai Marina skyline and offering delicious dining experiences plus fabulous leisure facilities and an award-winning ‘Fairmont Falcons’ Kids Club for kiddos over 18 months.*

Good luck mama, and remember, if you don’t vote, you can’t win!

We're social
‘If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘me too’ as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.’ You’re probably aware of the social media campaign that’s tearing its way around the world - women have encountered harassment in all forms and suffered in silence for too long. This is the time to confront the belittlement and stand united. For ourselves, for our friends, our sisters, mothers, daughters - for anyone we know who may be suffering. #metoo
Dubai’s latest beachfront destination @lamerdubai opened today and it’s gorgeous! Currently only first phase open (with more to come) but there are already kids playgrounds, restaurants, cafes, activities, in- waster hammocks, space to scoot and loads more plus it’s so pretty! Had such fun exploring- more on stories! 🚣
Friday night feels... #moveoverbeyonce
Our Editor and her fam headed out to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve early this morning for an @arabianadventures desert safari - a great way to get that all-important dose of nature and see all sorts of creatures, from camels to sand fish, oryx, gazelles and more in a pristine desert environment, and a yummy picnic brekkie too - perfect for when the weather cools or if you have visitors in town! 🐪🐪🐪🐪

Today is International Day Of The Girl - a UN created initiative to ensure more opportunity for girls and to increase awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide - including the right to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, and protection from discrimination and violence. This day is also about celebrating girls and all that females have achieved. We say a huge YES to that and to empowering girls and promoting gender equality today and everyday 💪🏻 How do you find raising girls in a world which still falls back on gender stereotypes, mamas?
