Brekkie with the Brood, Kids Eat For Free at Big Chefs JBR

For mamas stuck at home on a weekday with a little one not in school for the day or who is unwell- but still well enough to need entertainment – we hear you! An early wake up combined with a small (but needy!) companion can drive anyone nuts so we think you should treat yourself to breakfast out and start the day with an outing!

Take your little ones down to the lovely new piazza at The Beach opposite JBR and head to Big Chefs restaurant for your morning date. Because here’s the things mamas; every weekday morning from 8am-11.30am with each breakfast order you put in your little one eats for free at Big Chefs. You heard us, free as in zero dirhams! Awesome.

We took our brood to breakfast Big Chefs’ style during half term last week and had a lovely time. The restaurant itself has a bit of an industrial- cool, New York feel to it but is very family-friendly with big rustic communal tables, which is great when going for a meal with kids in tow. We decided to order several breakfast items to share and amongst our favourites were definitely the running start- a sesame seed bagel filled with melted cheese-, the morning delight platter full of local and international treats and the fabulous French toast (mandatory at the end of any breakfast worthy of its name). We also tried the yoghurt with homemade cereal and fruits, which was delish. And yes, we are hungry in the mornings, no judging please!

The little ones tucked into their free (we know!) treats – and with 5 of them between us – managed to test all of the kiddie breakfast options; a mini margarita pizza, the plain as well as the mushroom omelets plus a cute little stack of pancakes. Once fully charged the kids decided to work it off on their scooters outside while we got to enjoy a bit of chit, chat over coffee (coffee or tea is included in the breakfast-love that and definitely needed the caffeine boost!).

Our rascals were having fun racing around the piazza on their scooters and before we knew it breakfast turned into lunch and we found ourselves scanning the menu once again. We decided on the junior schnitzel with fries, which the kids pretty much inhaled, but there are several other little treats that look yummy on the kids’ menu too.

There may not be such a thing as a free lunch but a free breakfast works equally well for us, mamas and was definitely a BIG hit with the kids. We’ll be back!

Sun – Thursday between 8am-11.30am at Big Chefs JBR. A free kids breakfast with each breakfast order.
