A few of our favourite things to do in Dubai this week in our picks for your weekly calendar.

Grab your diaries and start making plans Mamas – as there is lots to keep the littlies (and you!) entertained over the coming week! From free afternoon movie screenings, to Ramadan play deals, to cultural iftars in the historical district, to antenatal classes for expectant parents, to evenings painting and sipping grape. Free Movie Screenings at Reform, The Lakes

Pick up the kiddos from school – and head straight to Reform in The Lakes, as there is a free cinema screening every afternoon throughout Ramadan, taking place in the eatery’s air-conditioned tent (and we love a bit of free entertainment, don’t you Mamas?) They will be showing Maleficent on Sunday 4th, Storks on Monday 12th, The Secret Life of Pets on Tuesday 13th, Horton hears a Who on Wednesday 14th, and Moana on Thursday 15th. No need to book – just turn up for 3pm every afternoon!

Ramadan Play Deal at Cloud 7

Looking for ways to keep the kiddos busy during Ramadan, Mama? Why not head to Cloud 7 in Level Kids, where you can snap up a special play deal throughout the Holy Month. Visit between 6pm and 10pm every evening and you will pay just 60 AED per child for the Standard Package (two-hours access, plus one activity) or 90 AED for the Superior Package (with two activities) – reduced from 100 AED and 130 AED. Kiddos can pick from activities including soap making, cake decorating, candle making, and ceramic painting – and once they’ve completed their masterpieces, they can take them proudly home. Sounds amazing, right Mamas?

Paint and Grape Night at Media One Hotel

Fancy yourself as a modern day Vermeer, Mama? Here is your chance, as this sociable evening at Media One Hotel will include jazzy French music, a paint brush in your hand, and experts on hand to help you create your very own version of Vermeer’s masterpiece The Girl with the Pearl Earring. BabyCalm Antenatal Workshop

Pregnant Mamas, get scribbling in your diaries! Organised by Love Parenting UAE, this is the last BabyCalm Antenatal Workshop before summer. The three-hour workshop is for pregnant couples who would like to learn what life with a baby will be life – and how to make it as calm and enjoyable in the early days as possible. The workshop will take place at Inspire Nursery in Jumeirah (at 350 AED per couple – or 300 AED if you introduce a friend) – and parents of newborns are also welcome if they are finding things less-than-calm at home (we’ve all been there Mamas!) Cultural Iftar at SMCCU

If you fancy heading out to an Iftar this Ramadan, here is one that really does stand out (for all the right reasons, Mamas!) Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, based in the historical Fahidi District of Dubai, is hosting a Cultural Iftar every evening until 22nd June. The evening begins with the Athan (the call to prayer), before you are invited to tuck into a range of traditional Emirati Iftar dishes. You can ask as many questions as you like about Ramadan, the cultures and traditions of the UAE – and when you’ve finished eating, you’ll head over to the Diwan Mosque, before returning to SMCC for dessert and tea. It’s perfect for kiddos too Mama! Tickets are 155 AED per person (kids 7-12 years at 80 AED – and littlies free). Head over to http://www.cultures.ae to book.
