Dubai Creek & Souks

One of the city’s most vibrant places and the heart of old Dubai, Dubai Creek is where you can watch and ride traditional dhows and Abras and visit the areas famous souks.  Cross the water on a wooden Abra (located along the Creek) and enter the gold souk – even if you don’t plan to buy, the glittering store fronts are sure to capture the imagination of any wannabe princess.    Let the kids take in the smells and colours of the spice souk before taking the Abra on to the Bur Dubai Textile souk to pick up fabrics for tailormade clothes and home furnishings.  Mamas with little boys in tow – and particularly those with a pirate obsession – can jump on a tourist dhow for a guided trip up and down the Creek complete with free soft drinks and a historical commentary (the kids won’t listen but they will love the ride!). Walking along the Dubai creek and Dubai corniche is a lovely family activity when the weather is cool enough.

Abra ride AED 1 per person – the ride is only approximately 5 minutes long but has awesome views and is super exciting for kids!
