Personalised Workouts By The Best Trainers In Dubai
We know how it is – you promise to go to the gym more often, to run each week and always take the stairs – but it isn’t always that simple. The answer? A personal trainer to kick-start a fitness routine that you’ll end up loving (really) and who won’t allow you to skip a session or slip into bad habits. If you want to look good (yes) and feel even better (definitely) then investing in your fitness is a no-brainer (come on, you spend a small fortune on your hair, wardrobe and all the rest each month…but none of that will make a jot of difference if you’re unhappy with your bod.). From big beefy hunks to gorgeous gals, these are the trainers who’ll whip your a** into shape, mamas!
There’s nothing like a great view to inspire an awesome workout, mamas – and you can’t get much better than Dubai Creek (especially in the morning – bliss!). Super qualified and mega friendly Scotsman Andrew Walls is the Fit Lab’s (at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club) expert fitness instructor – and a pro at designing bespoke programmes for every fitness goal whether you want to improve your flexibility, sort your nutrition or build some muscle!
With a super duper, state of the art gym to navigate, Andrew will also take your training sessions in the stunning grounds of the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club – helping you stay motivated in the fresh air. Lush. All he asks is that you commit and stay disciplined and he’ll sort the rest. With a great sense of humour and a love of sport, you’ll be able to choose from a huge range of sporty solutions to achieve your goals – this isn’t just about pumping iron or sweating it in a gym. And after all that training is over, there’s always a (skinny) latte waiting at one of the beautiful resort restos or cafes. Perfect.
This badass, super fit (duh!) and mega-friendly Aussie is an internationally renowned health and fitness coach who has whipped anything from over-worked bankers in NYC to Victoria’s Secret Models and NHL-players into shape. And can you believe he did all of this only to prepare himself for his ultimate challenge- The Sassy Mamas of Dubai? Ok, maybe he had some other career goals as well but… whatever.
Tell him what your personal body goals are, big or small, and he will make it happen. We personally said ‘Heidi Klum’ in 10 days, he looked skeptical and said we might need a bit more time. Ok then…
Now, stop trying to stare that avocado down and give the guy a call!
Ok – full disclosure – we have a slight (big) girl crush on Claire. First up, she looks like Elle Macpherson (seriously, check out her instagram feed). Secondly, this Aussie has an obvious love of the outdoors and of adventure and nature (her workouts are outside as much as possible) and her abs are enviable! We want to look like this. With personal training packages for groups or individuals there are various price options available plus nutritional advice, body fat measurement and all that stuff.
One look at the Glorygirl Fit instagram feed and you’ll want to be a part of her magical fitness mission! This bubbly South African (whose real name is Nadine) is not only an insta goddess but also a fitness consultant and personal trainer. With packages including diet testing, life coaching, cooking and – of course – training, she can come up with a complete solution to turning your life and your health goals around. Yipeee!
Gorgeous Scottish mama of 2, Iris is a whizz at whipping you into shape (in the nicest possible way). A licensed exercise and rehabilitation specialist, Iris is particularly brilliant at post-injury fitness (she worked 8 years at Harley Street and another 8 at the Orthosports Centre in Dubai). And she just gets it – as a busy mama she understands the whole post-baby body thing and works hard to fit into whatever timings fit with your routines. Oh yeah, she’s also an internationally certified Pilates instructor – fab!
AED 400 per home session
She’s a personal trainer AND a fitness model AND her last name is Body – could it get any better!? Oh yeah..she’s also won a heap of awards including Miss Asia Pacific Swimsuit – get the picture, mamas?! Jes is one very cool Kiwi chick who offers one-on-one and group coaching plus remote training for anyone living overseas or wanting a more hands-off approach. From nutrition to fitness and everything in between, Jes also offers a bikini fat loss program that’ll come in very handy once winter is over!
A fave with many a mama, Laraine is a lovely mama herself – with a mission to get her clients working out in a fun, effective and interesting way (bye-bye boring!). She’s bubbly, gorgeous and motivating – seriously you’ll want to be like her but in a non-scary kinda way. Cardio, flexibility, resistance plus advice on nutrition and plenty of chat about kids and life and all that stuff, each session with Laraine will fly by.
AED 250 – 300 per session depending on location

The GORGEOUS Carly, aka Lean Living Girl, is somewhat of a superstar on the personal training scene and her blog on all things healthy is absolutely fab so check it out (she’s also a new contributor to Sassy Mama Dubai – woohoo!). This London lass believes in a balanced lifestyle – she loves food so won’t be telling you to eat nothing but lettuce leaves (hooray!) – in fact her blog is choc full of delicious recipes that happen to be healthy too. Whether you want to lose fat (yes), tone up your bod (yes), simply keep in great shape (hopefully one day!) or even put on substantial muscle mass (Carly trains men too) then she’s your gal. Carly has significantly changed her body over the years and knows she can do the same for you! Just take a look at her instagram and be inspired.
Another friendly giant is Nigel Prasad, who is the head coach at another big Al Quoz gym. Seriously, what’s up with the beefy dudes and Al Quoz, mamas? Anyways… here is what one of our fav. Sassy contributors, Sara Sadik (@magicmommyhood), has to say about training with Nigel:
“He pushed me hard even with a baby baking away inside and pushed me even harder once the baby was out! I seriously had forgotten how high my butt could be lifted…”
And knowing Sara, channeling her intense energy – and actually getting her to be quiet for a minute- is quite the achievement. Well done Nigel and: Go get your butts lifted high mamas!
The handsome hubby of one of our fave PR gals, Rafat Shawe is a lean, mean PT machine (ok, not the mean part…he’s actually very lovely!). A professional MMA fighter (don’t be scared, mamas), this guy will get you fighting fit in no time – either at the James & Alex Dance Studios in Media City where you can expect to kickbox and karate your way to a toned bod or at a location of your choice. Want to know why martial arts training is great for tired mamas? Well it provides excellent stress release for starters (there’s nothing like a bit of kickboxing after battling the school-run traffic) plus improves strength (for lugging all that baby kit around), fitness and flexibility. Sound good? We think so. Oh and Rafat also teaches little wannabe karate kids so the little ones can get in on the action too…
How’s this for cool, mamas – Zoe (aka @fitmum_dxb) is not only a personal trainer but also a mama AND a practicing midwife – let’s give this lady a huge round of applause! An expert in pre and post natal fitness (of course), Zoe believes in the healing powers of fresh air and in getting outdoors as much as possible (hooray) and making a workout as accessible as possible to busy mamas. Babies, kids, dogs – they’re all welcome to accompany you while Zoe puts you through your paces – she’s even happy to feed your bubba or rock him to sleep while you lunge and has done many a session with a baby in a carrier strapped to her chest (yes, seriously!).
Having trained throughout her own pregnancy and bouncing back to full fitness afterwards, Zoe knows all about the changes your body goes through and (being a midwife and a mama), can also help with those pesky issues like pelvic floor problems or sore boobs. Basically, she’s awesome!
AED 3000 for 10 sessions or AED 4000 for a group of 2-5 of you (grab your gal pals!)
