What better way to celebrate Eid al Adha than with a family outing to Arabian Nights by Story Pocket Theatre mamas? Showing at DUCTAC, this gem of a production is a contemporary re-telling of the One Thousand and One Arabian Nights and stories of the Islamic Golden Age – we’re talking Ali Baba and the 40 thieves, Aladdin and his lamp, and a whole feast of adventures and fantasies involving genies, villains, heroes and princesses.
Perfect for the whole fam (kiddos aged 4 and up are going to love this one), the show is performed by the British theatre troupe Story Pocket Theatre, a mega talented group who’ll transport you and the clan to a wonderful world of mysterious marvels including music, madcap comedy, puppetry and a whole lot of theatrical magic. Sounds awesome right? It totally is – these guys have wowed the audience at the 2014 Edinburgh ‘Fringe’ Festival and have been talent spotted by the programming peeps at DUCTAC to bring their vibrant version of ancient tales to Dubai. Hooray!
Narrated by the lovely Scheherazade, prepare to meet a whole range of characters and have a good few giggles and lots of laughs over an hour of amazingly interactive storytelling and theatrical genius. In the words of one of their four-year-old fans, the show is ‘amazing, and a million times funny.’
Get those imaginations fired up with an enchanting trip to the theatre – we’re booking our tickets right now mamas – see you there!
Suitable for ages four and up.
