They’ve stolen a pizza our hearts

Thought pizza was off the menu now that your 2018 clean eating plan has kicked in? Think again, mamas! We recently discovered Pinza Pizza which is not only delicious but also healthier (yes, it’s true…except maybe the nutella one!). Set up by 2 sassy papas on a mission to blow all those soggy pizzas out of the water, Pinza has fast become our fast food of choice (and the kids love it too!). We chatted to Tamer and Faisal about their Pinza journey and about being dads in Dubai.

Warning: once you’ve read this post you’ll be dialing for a pizza quicker than we can say Margherita. But that’s ok because the lovely Pinza papas are offering all Sassy readers a delicious 20% discount until the end of February. Simply enter code SASSY20 at checkout.

Tell us a little bit about yourselves and your families?

Tamer:  My wife, my 2 sons and I are beach loving foodies. We spent most of our lives living in the US and relocated to Dubai in 2014 to be closer to our families.

Faisal: I recently got married and had my first baby boy. I was born and raised in dubai and I did my undergrad in London UK.

What inspired you to set up Pinza Pizza and what were you doing before?

Tamer:  We always thought there is room for a delicious healthy NOT soggy Pizza – Pinza was born in December 2015 launching the healthiest Pizza dough in the Market. I graduated from the Hilton Hospitality College in Houston Texas, then started working with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for 10 years  – traveled to many different cities and countries to pre-open many new Four Seasons Hotels. I then decided to quit the corporate world and move back to Dubai where I was raised, and decided to open my own business with two of my best friends who I consider brothers. Then Pinza was born and now we are considered one of the top rated restaurants on every delivery APP.

What makes Pinza so unique?

The Dough is our selling point, we use 80% water 20% flour, 4 different types of non GMO flour and topped with lots of fiber for easy digestion. Our dough is crunchy, our flour is imported from Rome where we invested as well in the lab. We do not use any animal fats to make our dough, minimal amounts of yeast.

What are your plans for Pinza/the Dubai food scene in the future?

We launched with one location in December 2015, we are currently running 4 locations, opening our 5th and 6th in 2018. Plan is going to an international market in 2018 as well (more info to be shared)
