A weekend brunch with the fam is one of our absolute favourite things to do – especially when the kids food and entertainment is good enough to keep them happy enough for the adults to sit, chat, eat and chill a little! We checked out the new Pirates & Mermaids family brunch at Mazina, The Address Hotel Dubai Marina where everything from magic shows to delicious food made for a fabulous day out.

The occasion:
The launch of the Pirates & Mermaids family brunch at Mazina, Dubai Marina and a few hours of quality Saturday fun time.
The Venue:
The Saturday brunch at Mazina has always been a favourite with families in Dubai. Now with an enchanted underwater theme, specially themed dishes and prizes for the best dressed pirate or mermaid, there’s loads of watery fun for everyone without the need to get wet! The great thing about this venue is that it’s not huge so if you’re worried about your little ones wandering off (as can often be the case at huge brunches), this space is much more manageable.
The vibe:
Laid back, fun and with plenty going on to keep the kids entertained while parents relax on a Saturday afternoon – it’s easy to see why so many families love the Saturday Mazina brunch.
There are 2 main seating areas, the kids room which is full of life and laughter from the little ones. This is where you’ll find kids food displayed in a pirate ship, a bouncy castle, face painting and the stage where Magic Phil entertains the kids throughout the afternoon. If you have little ones this place is perfect… so much for them to do and so easy to keep an eye on them while you enjoy your food. If your kids don’t need quite so much looking after, and you would like a little bit more peace and quiet there is another dining area where all the grown up food is laid out – Its close enough for the kids to join in the fun, but far enough that you don’t have to to 😉
The Food:
We absolutely loved the food at Mazina – everything from sushi, curries and Chinese to traditional Beef Wellington and even slow cooked ribs (for the pork lovers among us!). The kids really enjoyed everything too, along with some of the usual favourites they also had some yummy underwater desserts and drinks (the mermaid juice was a real hit with my daughter!)
Room for improvement:
The kids room can be quite lively, but what else would you expect with so much going on for the little ones ! And with the waiter keeping glasses topped up it wasn’t long before we wanted to join in too!
What we loved:
This brunch has such a lovely family feel, no pretense, just laid back Saturday afternoon enjoyment for everyone ! At a first glance it looked like it would only appeal to very young ones, but my 8 & 9 year old kids had a great time… I couldn’t quite convince them to dress up (shame as they were giving away free brunches to the best dressed), but Magic Phil never fails to deliver fun and entertainment for everyone – he even had the parents up dancing at one stage ! (my husband took a little persuading, while I watched on and laughed!). Oh and to top it all off, this fab brunch is in the Entertainers monthly offers!
