We Feast At Little Miss India, Dubai’s Newest & Coolest Indian Restaurant

The latest character led, gastronomic destination at Fairmont The Palm is Little Miss India whose quirky concept fuses a vibrant and colonial restaurant/lounge bar with the incredible quality, history and diversity of Indian cuisine. If you love Indian food and want somewhere with major ambience and a cool vibe then this place is perfect!

The Occasion:

The kids had just broken up for the 3 week Christmas holiday (whoever thought they needed 3 weeks off?!) and the turkey dinners were fast approaching so my husband and I took the only opportunity we had to relax without the children and to enjoy some amazing Indian food a deux.

The Venue:

Little Miss India is Fairmont The Palms latest unconventional, eclectic Indian restaurant. The ‘Mistress’ of the mansion, Little Miss India herself, takes diners on unique journey through her worldly travels and eccentric menu in a setting which is created to seem like her very own home.

We had no idea what to expect when we arrived for dinner but can honestly say that Little Miss India blew us both away – a perfect venue for a romantic dinner or a group occasion. The menu focuses on regional Indian flavours and has a great choice of sharing style dishes (which was fun until we both wanted the last bbq lamb chop!!)

The vibe:

Wow – Entering Little Miss India’s house is a real treat… this most definitely is not your average Indian restaurant! From the moment we arrived and saw the ‘Tribal Art Taxi’ that marks the entrance to the mansion we knew we were in for an amazing evening.

We moved through the beautiful glasshouse which is decorated with ornate chandeliers and layered plants to the eclectic cocktail lounge where a tribal spice truck has been converted into a seriously cool and colourful bar. The menu was full of exciting and unusual sounding cocktails so, with a little help from our waitress, I opted for the Bollywood Spritz (Vodka Aperol & Prosecco with pear and apple juice… as lethal as it sounds!) which was yummy.

Diners can eat al fresco in the private courtyard or, like we did, in the rich and classy dining room which is decorated with vibrant, quirky artwork and with a clear glass wall through to the kitchen where you can view the chefs preparing your meal.

The Food:

One word – AMAZING! Alongside some of the Indian classics that we’re all familiar with were lots of unusual and unique dishes… it took us some time to decide what to go for, and our waiter was more than happy to help. Toward the end of our meal the chef even made an appearance to ask us how we had enjoyed the food… the perfect end to the evening.

Room for improvement:

So hard to find any fault! If I had to say something it would be that by the time we got to dessert we had enjoyed one too many cocktails, and far too much amazing food already to fit anything else in!! Our waiter insisted on bringing us a little sweet treat which was amazing and when we return we will most definitely save some space for a proper sweet treat.

What we loved:

The attention to detail is amazing… everywhere we looked there was a quirky piece of art, a piece of history or an unusual collectable… It really feels like you are entering the mansion of Little Miss India. All served up with amazing Indian food and delicious cocktails !
