Jumeira Baccalaureate School: Education That Goes Beyond the Traditional

Where It All Comes Together

Remember back in our school days when we were told that our final year subjects would determine our career path? YIKES! Though that seems a world away now, the pressure of picking subjects at the tender age of 16 is still very real, mama. And at that age, who knows what subjects – let alone what careers – they want to follow?!

If you’re looking to raise well-rounded little adults (yes), who are aware that the world is FULL of opportunities, (as long as you’re willing to work hard for it, of course), then the International Baccalaureate (IB) might just be the best way to go!

As one of the best IB schools in Dubai, Jumeira Baccalaureate School (JBS), in the heart of Jumeirah 1, is all about the magic trio – ‘learning, thriving and succeeding’. Through enquiry-based learning, and the opportunity to study all core subjects AND pursue passions, these experts are big believers that excitement fosters learning and that education that leads to career choices must go beyond the traditional subjects (if only we’d had that chance…)! As an IB school, JBS is known for celebrating and embracing diversity and considering all aspects of education, focusing on the culture of the world and the importance of awareness. With students from more than 80 different countries, the learning environment urges kids to genuinely value the opinions of others – and we say a huge hooray to that.

The school certainly talks the talk – but does it walk the walk? Well, mama, JBS students achieve above the global average for diploma results, and those are some pretty persuasive statistics. Plus, their large number of multi-lingual speakers is a testament to the international and diverse student population! All great so far…

With Grade 1 students being the school’s super-eco-heroes (decked in masks and capes, rescuing the environment!), and secondary students engaging with career-related programmes (from editorial work at Gulf News, to helping hotel chefs), you can be sure that education will mean so much more than classroom-time at JBS!

Looking to find out more? Make sure you register for JBS open day on Wednesday, 20 April, and check out the fab campus for yourself!

Jumeira Baccalaureate School is located in Jumeira 1, 53B Street, off Al Wasl Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
