As part of the late nights during Ramadan, thejamjar will work with guest curator, Beth Derderian, to host and create a program of events designed for arts professionals, artists, and arts enthusiasts who live in Dubai. On Wednesday evenings, beat the heat with stimulating conversations and film screenings inside the new thejamjar space in Alserkal Avenue. The thread tying these events together is the theme “outside” – whether that is outside the art historical canon, outside the museum, outside traditional engagement strategies. We are interested in art that exists and occurs away from traditional spaces like museums, the ways that Dubai-based galleries institutions engage in public education and engagement that are atypical for their type of institution, what innovative arts education looks like and where that might transpire, and how radical policy in the arts might encourage and stimulate growth.
**DIY art stations will be available for children ages 7 and above to facilitate parents’ attendance. 50 AED per child**
