It’s the end of the week again and there’s nothing in your calendars. No worries mama, we’ve found the best June events in Dubai and promos for the fam to keep everybody entertained. From a mega sale to an ice skating performance that’ll have the kids jumping for joy, it’s all here in our Weekender.

Did someone say mega sale?

ACE’s Sheikh Zayed store is one year older and they’re celebrating with crazy sales on everything from barbecues to outdoor furniture. (You’ll finally be able to get that lounger you’ve been eyeing up, mama.) The tots will also be able to get their faces painted or some henna done while you shop, plus there’s going to be a few exciting raffles with unbeatable prizes.

When: 11-13 June
Where: ACE Hardware, Al Futtaim, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai

disney on ice

Literally frozen
That’s right, Disney on Ice is in town and they’ve taken over the Dubai World Trade Centre for a five day extravaganza. With a Princesses and Princes theme featuring favourites like Queen Elsa, Flynn Rider, Princess Jasmine and more, the kiddos will be absolutely captivated by action on the ice. (Plus, who doesn’t love a good sing-a-long?) Better get tickets soon mamas, as they’re running out pretty quickly. Just remember to bring a jacket before bundling in!

When: 10-14 June
Where: Dubai World Trade Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai

salt food truckFind Salt
Family foodies at the ready! The amazing Salt food truck is launching Salt Resort at Kite Beach, where you’ll be able to grab some of the delish burgers and get your groove (or stand up paddleboard?) on to live music and more. We’re not entirely sure what it’s all about – but we’ve been promised pineapples…

When: 13 June, 4pm
Where: Salt Food Truck, Kite Beach, Dubai

danceOne step at a time
From the Diverse Performing Arts School comes an awesome showcase called Step in Time. Inspired by the works of Mary Poppins and Dr. Seuss, this positively magnetic show is a perfect indoor activity for the whole fam that’ll have you dancing in your seat. (Gotta get out of that sunshine, mamas.)

When: 12-14 June, 3pm and 7:30pm
Where: Madinat Theatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai

Parenthood’s a pretty daunting journey and it doesn’t hurt to get a little help along the way. The Change Initiative is hosting an awesome You Complete Me workshop where you and the kiddos will be able to learn more about everything from conscious parenting to anger management. Unfortunately it’s not open to little bubs with an age limit of 6-12 years, but it seems well worth going to – plus you get free organic refreshments!

When: 13 June, 2-6pm
Where: The Change Initative, Al Barsha 1, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai
How much: AED 360 per parent/child couple, AED 175/150 for every additional parent or child

Little cinema fans are definitely going to want to check out Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club’s Cine Splash night this weekend! On Thursday evening, they’ll be playing Tinker Bell Pirate Fairy and Sky High and on Friday, they’ll be playing one of my personal favourites The Book of Life and Home Alone 3. Entry scores you a bag of popcorn and a towel and you don’t even have to be a member to join in.

When: 4-5 June, 7pm onwards (guest tickets available at 6:30pm)
Where: Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, Al Qudra Road, Opposite Arabian Ranches, next to Studio City, 7477 Dubai
How much: Free for members, AED 45 for adults and AED 35 for kids (non-members)

arte marketLet’s hear it for the artisans
The fab ArtE market is an event we’re sure you’ve heard of, full of great local artisans selling their beautiful handmade goods. With everything from toys for the kiddos through to gorgeous new threads for mama, bring the whole troop along to Times Square Center for a bit of retail therapy.
