Woohoo, it’s the weekend! There are loads of events and promos to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan including an educational iftar, fab night market, magic workshop and more. It’s all here in our Weekender!

The awesome Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding is definitely somewhere you want to be headed this Ramadan. Holding a daily family-friendly Iftar, you’ll be able to learn more about what happens during Ramadan as well as the cultural traditions behind it all. Beginning with a call to prayer, it all wraps up with some dates and coffee which is always a plus.

Held at one of the coolest cafes in town, the popular Shop the Night market is going to be hitting TOM & SERG for a special Ramadan round. Running in conjunction with The Corner Shop, you’ll be able to snag some of the coolest handmade goods from fashion to homewares – plus, Rule the Roast 2.0 will be happening at the same time so you can score a delicious dinner. (More deets on that below!)

If you’ve got a little magician in the family, then you won’t want to miss out on Magic Phil’s great workshop for kiddos. Not only will your child be able to learn how to perform a bit of magic themselves, they’ll also get a basic starter kit and even get to watch a fantastic magic show. With two sessions for children aged 5-8 and another for those aged 9-13, we’re just a little sad we can’t get in on the action too.

When: 20 June, 10-11am for 5-8 year olds, 1-2pm for 9-13 year olds

Cine Splash is back for another poolside cinema session this weekend with Thursday bringing Cars and The 7th Dwarf to the silver screen, whereas on Friday they’ll be screening Despicable Me 2 and Zathura. As with all the other Cine Splash events, it’s open to members and non-members of the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club and the price covers entry as well as a towel and popcorn.

When: 18-19 June, 6:30pm onwards

How much: Free for members, non-members pay AED 45 for adults and AED 35 for kids aged 4-12 years old

Got a bendy bub in the family? Why not celebrate International Kids Yoga Day with Body Language in Al Barrari? Aimed at raising awareness of the benefits of kids yoga (i.e. stimulating compassion, balance, fitness and everything nice), your kiddos aged 4-8 will be able to get involved at this hour long session.
