Kiddo Aquatics with FitRepublik

It’s never too early for the littles to start learning to swim – especially if The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo are permanent fixtures in your home. FitRepublik’s running some fantastic Babies and Junior Aquatics classes at their Olympic-standard facility over at Sports City and the best thing is that you can get involved as well. Aimed at children aged between 6 months and 4 years old, these classes are kept small to ensure that you and your bub get the most out of each session.

With a number of Babies Aquatics for tots of different ages, your jellyfish (6-12 month olds), seahorses (1-2 year olds), clownfish (2-3 year olds) and penguins (3-4 year olds) will have the time of their lives splashing about and with you by their side helping them along. Guided by their fantastic swimming coaches ex-Olympian Troyden Prinsloo and sports scholar Eloise Barber, your children will be able to develop their fitness as well as their confidence, cognition, strength and motor skills which are oh-so-crucial at this stage of their lives.

There’s also Learn to Swim offerings for slightly older kiddos aged 5+, where they’ll be able to pick up the basics of swimming – you don’t have to hang around for this one mama, we know you have errands to run. And don’t forget about the awesome swimming squads for your aspiring Michael and Michelle Phelps’, they’ll be going for the gold in no time.

It’s all held at FitRepublik’s incredible temperature-regulated pool (not a degree higher or lower than 29°C) and their biweekly sessions are an easy thirty minutes long. With sessions every single day of the week, we’re sure you’ll find something to squeeze into your schedule. Time to break out the water wings, mama.
