January Edition: This Month Sassy Mama is…

Family LifePost Category - Family LifeFamily Life

A mini guide to what we’re doing and loving this month!

Fun-ones

Reading:

My Mummy Loves Shoes’ by Clare Grove, to my little 2 year old, Violet. She is already obsessed with accessories and won’t go anywhere without a handbag full of her ‘essentials’ (everything from odd socks to kitchen utensils). This super cute little book takes the little listener on a whimsical journey through her mummy’s shoe collection (sadly not mine!) – there are Choos, Manolos and Miu Mius to spot, a really sweet story, and gorgeous illustrations. Available exclusively at DB Babies.

truffle

Eating:

Black truffles on the terrace at BiCE Mare, while watching the Dubai fountains (shhh… don’t tell anyone but this is one of the best places to watch from). Possibly the best Italian meal we’ve had since our trip to Sicily! The burratta is to-die-for (especially when it’s got big fat shavings of black truffle all over it).

Treating:

The family to gourmet waffles from No 3 Dubai – one of Box Park’s sweet stop offs! The menu has every type of waffle you have ever dreamed of. Including one laden with cream, drizzled with toffee sauce and with a cookie on top (yes, the talk around town is true)!

Ordering:

A weekly fruit box from Fruitful Day. Jam packed with a selection of some of the yummiest fresh fruits, from both local and hand-picked farms around the world, it almost looks too good to eat! This is seriously sassy snacking, and the perfect busy-mama-alternative to trawling the supermarket aisles and making sure the littles get their 5 (or 10) a day.

Dubai Mall - Shopping

Spending:

At the Dubai Shopping Festival 75% off everything, everywhere until February. Need I say more?

The Journey

Playing:

At The Journey, just off Kite Beach – honestly one of the best kiddie spaces this city offers. A green oasis complete with mini veggie gardens, water play, climbing structures and the opportunity for our little ones to get down and dirty with nature (a little farm, café and program of kids classes will be opening soon!) Read more about it here.

organise

Calling:

The Organiszing Queens, for their top tips on decluttering the house! I moved two months ago and there are still boxes to unpack. These two fab ladies are, not only friends, but also have an obsession for getting things organised – what a dream duo!
