Schooling That Goes Beyond The 3 R’s

Remember when school was all about reciting your times tables and conjugating verbs? Sure, those things are important, but to prepare our kiddos for the future and help them grow into well-rounded, interested and interesting little people, there’s so much more to academia these days! We love The Dubai British School Jumeirah Park’s (DBSJP) approach which combines the traditional with some incredible extra-curricular activities and a philosophy that embraces our modern world.

From a roof-top garden where pupils can enrol in a gardening club and grow their own plants and vegetables, to a Food Technology Lab which offers cooking classes and project space that allows the children to learn about different foods and cultures, and even a Student Radio Station available for regular broadcasts and even student weather forecasts, this is exactly what 21t Century schooling should be all about.

And it doesn’t end there: this Taaleem run system has moved beyond the old-fashioned and has made education and the school experience more fun, interactive and engaging. School Dining is a quality, family-style experience with staff and kids all enjoying the same organic, nutritious meals together and an emphasis on really useful skills including table manners, dining etiquette and even conversation – brilliant!

The bit we love most? The idea of Student Leadership, an essential part of the DBSJP philosophy both at primary and secondary levels which provides children the opportunity to develop and progress their personal leadership skills. From Eco-Warriors (responsible for maintaining the school environment) to Playground Buddies (to maintain a happy and safe space) and lots more, these special roles have become the ‘heartbeat’ of the school.

Multi-cultural, academic, forward thinking and with the most fabulous facilities, DBSJP ticks every box (and more). And if you’re a mama of many, they’re even introducing a sibling discount of 10% on tuition fees. Now that’s what we call modern schooling.

YOU’RE INVITED… to attend the DBSJP Open Morning on Tuesday, 21 March 2017 at 9 am for a great opportunity to meet the Principal and Senior Leadership team along with some of the students and experience the vibrant school community and state-of-the-art facilities.
