A Mini Guide To What To Do In Dubai This December
Where did this year go?! It feels like the stockings have only just come down and am now hanging them up again (which is actually super exciting as I love Christmas!). The festive season is all about the kids, about family, about food (lots and lots of food!) and about slowing down after the hectic mornings and school runs and work deadlines galore. From fun new places to eat to family outings to enjoy with the kids and much more, these are some of the things I’m loving and doing in December (besides Christmas, of course!).
The little girl in me at American Girl Dubai – the store that EVERYONE (with girls..) is talking about! If you want to make your little princess very happy then treat her to a visit here (but be warned, your wallet might take a battering). American Girl is an American line of dolls which portray 8-11 year old girls of various ethnicities and interests, all of which are sold with their own book/story. And it doesn’t stop with dolls, there are accessories, pets, clothes etc to buy for each doll too. Literally girlie heaven (I had to drag mine out of the store with the promise that Santa might make a stop there soon…).
Open at Mirdif City Center and now also Mall Of The Emirates.

At Pan Emirates who have just launched their online store with a small selection of what’s available in-store plus lots of bargains and end-of-line stock for your home and garden (check out the Lewis Baker Bed, a bamboo double sunbed that looks like it should cost the earth but is now available for just AED 349!). Am also a huge fan of the Ethnic/Rustic range which has everything from shabby chic style console tables to cute dining chairs and more – oh and the home accessories are just perfect for adding that little bit extra to your interiors with a splash of greenery, super cool cowhide rug or gorgeous table lamp – I’ve even found a light up globe for my little boy to put under the tree this Christmas.
At the newly opened Intercontinental Fujairah Resort on the shoreline of the beautiful Al Aqah Beach and with the stunning Hajjar Mountains as a backdrop. With beach fire-pits, a beautiful spa by L’Occitane, kids & teens club plus lots of fab dining options AND rates starting at only AED 650 per room per night it makes for a great staycation option.
At Flamingo Room by Tasha’s – because it’s so pretty, the menu is amazing, the setting stunning and because once you’ve tasted their parmesan and truffle scrambled eggs you’ll want to go back (and back!). Perfect place for treating visitors or celebrating the weekend as a family.
