A Mini Guide To What To Do In Dubai This October!

It’s October, mamas! Which means Autumn (or at least slightly cooler weather here in Dubai), Halloween, preparing for visitor season (aka getting the spare room ready and the garden tidy) and shopping for new clothes (any excuse…). From absolutely fabulous new play spaces to interiors shopping with a difference, eating out at a huge discount to fashion and fun – this is a little of what I’m doing and loving in Dubai in October!

Flower Delivery Dubai

Filling…

My house with flowers from amazing new online flower delivery company Florette who bring the freshest most beautiful market blooms from Holland directly to your door. Their flower ‘market’ goes online every Thursday at 9.30am (mark it in your calendars!) and then they’ll sell, sell, sell until all flowers are sold out – brilliant! Their website is gorgeous, their service too – and you’ll never have to pay for overpriced supermarket bouquets again…yay!
psst…the Florette bouquets also make great gifts (husband, take note…)

pier chic Jumeirah restaurant week

Eating…

At crazy special prices during Jumeirah Restaurant Week where for 8 days, over 40 Jumeirah restaurants and bars will be offering heaps of irresistible food and drink experiences at seriously amazing prices. With set menus available from AED 95 per person there’s something for everyone. My fave? Date night options at Nathan Outlaw at Al Mahara, Burj Al Arab or Pierchic at Madinat Jumeirah – both available for AED 350 per person. Hurry and book!

olioli kids play area Dubai

Playing…

At OliOli, a soon-to-open 30,000-square-foot facility in Al Quoz which promises loads of interaction in a beautiful space which includes different zones and stunning interiors created by artists, professors, designers and more. The whole thing is a bit top secret until they open their doors but it WILL be amazing – I can tell you that textile artist Oshiko MacAdam who’s behind the breathtaking Toshi’s Nets playgrounds, has spent two years with her husband Charles creating a crocheted rainbow of nylon into something incredible and interactive for kids. Am excited – and so should you be, mamas! Watch this space…

deliveroo kids meal delivery

Ordering…

From deliveroo who have just added kids menus to their service! For those days when there’s literally nothing in the fridge and no time to sort out lunch boxes you can pick from delicious meals from family faves including BookMunch, Pantry Cafe, Wagamama and more! Oh and your little ones will receive a cute deliveroo activity book as part of the service too.

gap online shopping

Shopping…

With zero fuss on the just launched gap.ae website which has most of what you see in store available at the click of a button plus plenty of online exclusives too! And the best bit? Your order can arrive on the same day (depending on what time you place it) so if you’re having one of those ‘nothing to wear’ dilemmas or you need to get your kids kitted out for something special, this is the way to do it.

hip-hop cardio class

Hip-Hopping…

My way to fitness at the newly launched Hip Hop Cardio classes at Train SF, Al Quoz – perfect if you love a bit of a dance and hate the regular gym/run/boring old exercise class options. Apparently you’ll not only increase flexibility (yes please, can’t even touch my toes..) but also burn around 500 calories per class (hooray!). Oh and you’ll feel a bit Beyonce-like in the process.

wallpaper

Accessorising…

My walls with Paper Pop Deco, a paper and print studio in Dubai which sells everything from poster art to wall stickers to wallpaper. I am literally OBSESSED with their Jungle Lemur wallpaper, a tropical paradise for your kids space (or frankly for any space!), full of exotic plants and flowers plus toucans, lemurs, parrots and more. And the best thing? a ‘peel and stick’ wallpaper, sold in a standard 300cm x 200 cm size (bespoke sizes also available) – and completely removable, reusable, repositionable. LOVE!

Walking…

Through some of the open air galleries popping up throughout the city. City Walk and Karama have been transformed by murals, graffiti and more – making the best backdrops for your insta photos too!
