The trend of consuming all things organic is hot news everywhere and has definitely found its way to the heart of Dubai – and it’s no surprise that us mamas only want the best for the kiddos (and ourselves of course). We’ve done most of the digging for you and have gathered the best spas, skincare, restaurants, and online stores all based right in Dubai that only use organic ingredients and products. It’s time to go organic mamas – and this is how!
Rather than using a medical approach to treat ailments, this centre opts for alternative treatments and specialises in organic cosmetics and holistic methods to promote a more natural way of allowing the body to restore itself. We’ve heard great things about the orange-and-chocolate massage here – and frankly we can’t wait to give it a go. Beginning with the use of a Vitamin C packed exfoliator, the base ingredient being organic oranges from a local farmers’ market (yup, how cool is that), combining freshly squeezed juice mixed with refined sugar and organic extra virgin oil from Sicily – this natural scrub is definitely one to remember and will leave your skin smelling divine and your skin tingling. Amost all of In Balance’s treatments are organic too mamas!

The Organic Glow Beauty Lounge truly promotes a green lifestyle with its eco-friendly interior, including energy saving light bulbs, biodegradable towels, waste recycling and cruelty/toxin-free products. Founder Leena Al Abbas wanted to create a relaxing and hygienic eco-haven, saving the planet while making you look fabulous – sounds great right?! They are against using ammonia in hair colouring, bleaching and nail enhancements, so preggo mamas should give this salon a go! Your manicure will be done using non-toxic, vegan nail polish, along with an organic hand scrub. We love.

The luxurious Raffles Dubai offers transforming body treatments for mind and soul, all while using fragrant organic oils, essences and lotions. The “Lotus Transformation” caught our eye with the three-in-one treatment reflecting the journey of a lotus flower starting with a re-mineralizing moor-mud wrap before enjoying a private steam shower and ending with a massage using mineral rich cream and detoxifying essences of organic juniper, fennel and lavender. At the end of this organic budding experience, you’ll definitely feel as beautiful as a lotus mamas.

This vegan skincare company from California has recently found its way to the UAE, with locations including Boots and United Pharmacies. Derma E is known for saying no to animal cruelty, gluten and any other unpronounceable chemical nasties. Instead, you might find ingredients like green tea, oregano and pomegranate to argan oil. Find the full range of products available and ask any questions to its online esthetician about your skin concerns on their site.
Only handpicked and prepared vegetables, fruit pulps, flowers and exotic spices are chosen to be used in the Hungarian family owned organic skincare line. If there is an ingredient that you can’t find in nature, you won’t find it on their labels (what a perfect philosophy to follow by)! And Jessica Biel is a fan so that’s good enough for us. You’ll be able to find their products in spas including Talise, Royal Radisson, Rixos, clinics like Cosmosurge, Mayfair Clinic and the Dr. Rani Hammad Clinic. Finding it hard to choose something from all this goodness? Their best sellers include the Coconut Age Corrective Moisturizer and Cucumber Eye Gel. You’ll be hooked.
We all love the plain and simple truth when it comes to kids (most of the time) and you’ll find just that with Four Cow Farm’s 100% organic baby skin care products. We are huge fans of this range – so much so that we dedicated an entire feature to it. The journey to having a natural skincare line all started with a concerned grandma in Australia who wanted to make creams and balms that were safe for her two little grandchildren. You can never go wrong with a grandma’s love! The baby wash is made from 100% Olive Oil Pure Liquid Castile Soap and the Baby Lotion is made from a blend of sweet almond and apricot kernel oils and olive-derived emulsifier. And a lot of love of course. Four Cow Farm can be found in many retail stores around Dubai. Visit their Facebook for more information!
Anything that smells divine tends to capture our attention so we’re total suckers for the Herbline Essentials range of products which just happen to be paraben, paraffin and cruelty free – hooray! You can find a full range of skin and hair care including moisturisers, sun protection, shampoo and conditioners etc. at pharmacies across the UAE and online at www.herbline-essentials.com.
Izil Beauty has a multi-purpose 100% bio-argan oil that feels like butter melting into your skin and doesn’t leave any kind of oily residue, or require you to wait around for it to sink in (because which mama has time for that?). The silky soft and smooth results will make you fall deeply in love. Nuff said. You’ve got to try it. Izil has outlets at Festival City, Souk Madinat Jumeirah and Ibn Battuta.
Neal’s Yard is a mega popular organic, natural and herbal remedy homeopathic medicine and skin care store that originated in London’s Covent Garden – we love their Wild Rose Beauty Balm and Intensive Frankincense Cream plus we’re suckers for gorgeous packaging and their signature blue bottles are a winner. Neal’s Yard has branches in Dubai Mall and Marina Mall.
Inspired by the birth of her baby and near absence of natural products to slather on that gorgeous newborn skin, the sassy mama behind Original Sprout has created products free of phalates, parabens, sulphates and every other possible nasty associated with illnesses and diseases. Originating right from our wonderful city, Shiffa is Dubai’s very own award-winning natural and organic skin care luxury brand that combines the most beneficial ingredients to effectively nourish the skin and body. Founded by uber sassy mama Lamees Hamdan who became very aware of what she was eating, breathing and putting on her skin when she was pregnant, the first product was a preggers body oil to nourish the belly’s sensitive skin, and the rest is history. Some of their ingredients include rosewater from Iran, honey from Jordon, jasmine from Egypt and mineral Dead Sea Salt, it can’t get any better than this! You can have the Shiffa experience at the Talise Spa and The Spa Intercontinental, or swing by Sephora and give your skin the star treatment it deserves.
The very first organic skincare brand that’s “Made in Dubai”, where everything has been specially formulated for those living in hotter climates (because some of the highly raved about products out there just don’t cut it in this weather mamas). A That Mama herself, founder Shirley Conlon realised her passion with organics when she arrived in Dubai 10 years ago – her toxin extracting masks of green clay, apple, green tea and nettle have been highly recommended by many while the Rosehip Oil (botox in a bottle) made it onto Editor Kaya’s list of top 5 anti-aging products. Products are available to order online, head over to their site now and say goodbye to wrinkles and dehydrated skin mamas!
Yeah we love a good tree hug these days so we’re pretty hyped that The Treehugger Company has come along to sell us heaps of natural beauty products, skin care and make-up online (the Green People’s Clarifying Vitamin Shampoo and Conditioner has received rave reviews) and there’s a whole lot more to buy from their online store at www.treehuggerme.com.
Milk’s great for keeping the kiddo’s bones good and strong, and we’ve managed to find some of the best organic UHT milk in Dubai that’ll do the job. Run by a Dubai couple, we spilled on all the awesome benefits of Koita’s vitamin A and D enriched goods and demystifying the cons of UHT – plus, it’ll last for way longer than the fresh stuff.
If you’re looking for a place to wind down, relax, people watch and eat a whole basket of amazing bread then check out Le Pain Quotidien for fresh organic pastry to indulge in. They are situated right in Dubai Mall and open their doors bright and early at 7:30am – perfect for all us non lying-in mamas!
We’ve sung praises about this awesome organic grocery and resto, where you’ll be able to pick up everything from make-up to scrumptious ingredients and even grab a bite afterwards at their cafe.
