‘My child is excited to go to school every morning’. Papa Badar Al Shara tells us why he’s thrilled with Al-Mizhar American Academy

How did you first hear about your school?

Word of mouth. I have heard the same sentence from several people.

What factors played into your decision to send your child to this school?

I saw the happiness in all children of the school. The school is very organized. Students are well behaved.

Did you take a tour of the school before making your decision? What were your first impressions?

Yes, we liked the school so much that we directly enrolled our daughters.

How did your child adjust to the school? Did the school take any special measures to help with the settling in process?

Very professional KG teachers. They have dealt with my child’s separation Anxiety in a smart way.

What in your opinion are the three greatest strengths of the school?

Communication with Parents.

Organized Curriculum.

Supportive, helpful and friendly teachers.

How does the school include parents in the community?

FAM (Friends of AAM): parents are involved in events organization and idea implementation. Casual meetings with the Principal to ensure new and current families are well settled

How does the school keep you informed about your child’s progress?

By using Schoology, I can track all the grades as soon as they are uploaded by teachers.

What is the number one thing you’d miss if you transferred your child to another school?

The friendly school environment.

The well-organized homework, tests and progress of students.

Supportive Administration, teachers and staff.

What kind of child (or family) would you say would be the best fit for this school?

Any child would fit in. Families who would like to have a girls-only school, Families who are looking for strong American Curriculum and Families who have a special need child.

What extra-curricular activities or out of school programmes does the school offer that you have taken part in?
