Good Food, Good Chat, Good Times At Quattro Passi

Ciao, mamas! Dreaming of escaping to Italy for a mini break or reminiscing over great times on the Amalfi Coast? Quattro Passi is the perfect place for a taste of the med complete with a sophisticated Italian vibe and really delicious food. Buon appetito!

The occasion:

Did someone say ladies night (aka grown up dinner for the very grown up Sassy Mama team!) It doesn’t happen often, but we all managed to escape for a lovely evening of food and wine to celebrate a year of hard work (and fun) at Sassy Mama (and leave the husbands to do bath/bedtime too!)

The Venue:

Laid back and sophisticated, the Southern Italian dining vibes at Quattro Passi were enough to get us in the mood for a chilled night out (thank goodness we left the kids at home!). Set in the breathtakingly beautiful Five Hotel on Palm Jumeirah (the star of many an instagram post), we dined outside by the beautifully lit pool (so inviting, one or two more drinks and we could well have gone for a swim…), Quattro Pass brings authentic Italian cuisine inspired by the original Quattro Passi on the Amalfi Coast (a holder of 2 Michelin Stars no less) to Dubai.

The vibe:

Sophisticated, upmarket dining with a relaxed atmosphere – Quattro Passi is just a good‘date night’ venue as it is for a girls night out. And if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and calm, from 8pm onwards only kids of 8 years and above are allowed (sorry little ones!).  The staff were super attentive and helped with menu recommendations, all beautifully delivered with authentic Italian accents (although perhaps needed to add a little more detail as there were a couple of surprises along the way – none bad – just unexpected!).

The Food:

Quattro Passi does grown up Italian dining presented in the most beautiful way. We can’t recommend the burrata enough – creamy, fresh, completely yummy when mopped up with freshly baked bread – and the octopus starter was really good too. And as for mains? The pasta is mostly homemade (and delicious) – try the lobster linguine (soooo good!) and there are non carb options too from beef cheeks to lamb and fish dishes – plus portions aren’t so huge that you feel completely overwhelmed (and stuffed) which means more room for dessert! Speaking of which…the ricotta cheesecake is literally heaven in your mouth.

What we loved:

We dined outside which was stunning – the pool was lit beautifully, the hotel glowed in the background  it really was the most perfect setting.  If we didn’t have the dread of early morning wake up calls from the little ones there are a few post dinner drinks options available around the hotel, including the Penthouse on the 16th floor which offers spectacular views of the Dubai skyline
