Enjoy scrummy treats including sandwiches, healthy mains and a to-die-for raw veggie mix. There really is so much good stuff to choose from you’ll want to come back to try it all.  A perfect spot for working mamas and papas who want to take their littlies to lunch or for a bite with the kids at breakfast – a visit to DIFC always feels like a bit of a treat for them!

Cafe Rouge
Open daily from 9.30am during Ramadan

A French cafe with its roots in the UK, Cafe Rouge has everything you need and more – a gorgeous location, plenty of ambiance and a menu that’s jam packed with yummy stuff from breakfast to dinner but we can rarely see past the Croque Monseiur. There’s also a fab kids menu with healthy options too!

A little bit of Middle Eastern food is just about right for this period of time and you’ll be able to indulge in some of the best over at Café Arabesque. Whether you’re tucking into a delicious kebab or nibbling on Mezze, you’ll be able to grab it all from 12-4pm.

Caffe Di Casa
Open weekdays 8am – 10pm and weekends 4pm – 10pm during Ramadan.

Mama mia we’re all over our recent find in the Gold & Diamond Park (don’t worry husbands, we went to play at appleseeds). These guys take their (Italian) food seriously – there are 16 varieties of coffee, 30 types of vinegar, 54 oils and condiments, 80 types of pasta… ok you get the picture. The interior is bright and spacious and -in our opinion – totally child friendly.

Caffe Di Casa, Building 4, Gold & Diamond Park, Dubai, www.caffedicasa.com

circle cafe

Circle Cafe
Open daily from 10am – 10pm during Ramadan.

Sports City mamas this little cafe is definitely worth a look in (and an eat in). The menu offers something for everyone, from NYC-style bagels to fresh salads, sublime sandwiches to decadent desserts and everything between – all homemade and mega delicious – oh and breakfast is served all day, yipeee!

Dubai Butterfly Garden

ET Sushi
Open daily from noon – midnight (closing between 4-6pm) during Ramadan

Fraiche JLT

Fraiche
Open daily from 8am – 10pm during Ramadan.

A fab place for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Fraiche is a French-Canadian bistro with a seriously good menu. Dig into eggs done every which way and French favourites including Beef Bourguignon and Bouillabaisse as well as yummy sandwiches and salads. For chocoholics, the Nutella crème brulee is worth a visit alone (and a regular treat for the Sassy Mama kiddos).

gaucho dubai

Gaucho
Open daily from 12pm – 11:30pm during Ramadan.

Don’t give up on a romantic meal just yet, mamas! The swanky Argentinian resto Gaucho is still serving during the daylight hours (and then into the night), meaning you can get your fill of their amazing steaks. Don’t cry for us Argentina, we’ll be busy tucking in.

Jazz@PizzaExpress
Open Saturday – Wednesday noon – 1am and Thursday/Friday noon – 3am during Ramadan.

Sometimes only a pizza will do – and we’re big fans of those on offer at Jazz@PizzaExpress, a relaxed lively spot tucked away in JLT’s cluster A. From the outside this place looks like any old high rise glass and concrete building. Step inside and you’re instantly transported to a lively relaxed New York basement where kiddies are very welcome. There’s a large open kitchen where pizza chefs are busy stretching, shaping and topping dough and the menu offers all the usual Pizza Express fare.

Jazz@PizzaExpress, Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Cluster A

la serre

La Serre
Open daily Boulangerie: 6.30am-10.30pm and Bistro: 12pm-3pm7pm-11pm during Ramadan.

One of our very fave (if not absolute fave) places to eat – be it for brekkie, lunch or dinner. Stepping into La Serre feels like walking into a chic Parisian bistro complete with marble counters, bustling kitchen and a menu to die for. We recently tried the weekend breakfast for a Sassy date with the hubbies – a lovely change from going out in the evening when everyone’s too tired to string a sentence together and definitely the best freshly baked pastries this side of  the Med.

There are crisp white tablecloths and waistcoated wait staff but children are very welcome and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Ramadan will see the unveiling of ‘The House’ by La Serre, an art pop-up conceived by local art collective ’The Animation Chamber’ which will just add to this wonderful space. Bon Appetit mamas!

La Serre, Vida Downtown Hotel, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard
(+971) (0)4 4286969, www.laserre.ae

Little More
Open daily from 8am – 7pm during Ramadan.

The little sibling of much loved mama favourite More Cafe, Little More is a cute space with vibrant decor including modern artwork, bright yellow furnishings and a bistro feel. The food is good and portions are huge – a big hit with the kiddos!

Little More, Business Central
Tower, Dubai Media City, Dubai
(+971) (0)4 420 0100, www.littlemore.co

Nofara Cafe

Nofara Cafe
Open daily 11am – 9pm during Ramadan.

Nofara is super laid back and relaxed, serving up home-cooked food with a focus on organic, locally produced ingredients. The space is very pram friendly with big tables and plenty of room to push around and there’s a little kids colouring station too. If you’re trying to be ‘good’, the fresh salad bar (which changes daily) always promises yummy salads that are far from boring, but if you really want to treat yourself you have to pay a visit to the fresh cake counter. Lindt double chocolate brownies – enough said.

Nofara Cafe, Swiss Tower, Cluster Y, JLT

Life-n-One

One Cafe, Life’nOne
Open daily from 9am – 9pm during Ramadan.

Um…we kind of don’t want to share details of this magical spot – part of the very cool Life’nOne centre (full review on its way mamas), but that wouldn’t really be fair. So here goes. A cafe that is as much dedicated to mind and body as the centre it is homed in, One Cafe has an amazing menu of organic fresh juices and smoothies as well as healthy meals catering for veggies, vegans, the gluten-free or anyone who loves wholesome, nutritious food. Everything is gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free but definitely not taste free – it’s all soooooo good! And the best part? The cafe is an indoor, air-conditioned secret garden – one of the most incredible spaces we’ve found in ages. Shh, don’t tell anyone mamas!

One Cafe, Life’nOne, Life’n One Well-Being Centre, Jumeirah Beach Road, 27b Street
(+971) (0)4 343 6676, lifenone.com

Panifico
Open daily from 7.30am – 7.30pm during Ramadan.

We’ve only had take-out from this cool little sandwich stop – but if eating in is anything like eating out then you’ll be in for a treat mamas. This DIFC spot is small but cute and makes a sweet stop for breakfast or lunch with working mamas and papas. The quinoa salad is really good (and healthy – bonus) and the sandwiches are huge, yummy and perfect for sharing. We are definitely having the apple pie next time too!

Panifico, Gate Village 4, DIFC, (+971) (0) 4 3510131, www.panifico.me

the-pavilion-downtown

The Pavilion Downtown Dubai
Open daily from 10am – 1am during Ramadan.

We love this urban cafe – be it as a place to set up the laptop and churn through masses of work over copious amounts of (very good) coffee, or a place to grab a bite with the fam (there’s a small kiddie area too mamas)! An indoor vertical garden wall offers a welcome splash of green when outdoors is so hot and out of bounds and the menu is jam packed with healthy food disguised as yummy options and really delicious juices.

The Pavilion, Emaar Boulevard, Downtown, Dubai

Rhodes W1
Afternoon Tea: Wednesday to Saturday from 2.30pm- 5pm.

You may have read our rave review of Rhodes W1 before and you’ll be happy to know that this casual chic resto is still open during Ramadan. Serving up delicious British with a dose of atmosphere, it’s definitely a great option for dinner if you’re looking for a special night with your other half. Classic tea is priced at AED 190 and AED 340 for bubbly tea.

Sloane’s
Breakfast (6am-11am), Sat-Thurs, Friday (6am-11.30am), Lunch (12.30pm – 3.30pm), Friday Brunch (1pm-4pm).

Need a cool place to chill out with your family this Ramadan? Sloane’s is definitely one of the best places to be with a delicious selection of both hot and cold dishes that’ll please everybody. With an open-show kitchen that’ll dazzle the littles while they’re waiting for their orders, you won’t have any trouble keeping them entertained.

Roll your buggy in for a freshly squeezed juice or homemade cake (plus plenty of healthy homemade options for lunch or dinner) at this friendly little Palm Jumeirah local. west 14th

West 14th
Open daily from noon – midnight Sunday – Thursday and 9am – midnight Friday and Saturday during Ramadan.

Really popular with mamas, West 14th is a casual steakhouse serving hearty NYC inspired food and a relaxed vibe. As you can imagine, if you’re a meat-eater then this is the place to refuel on really good burgers, steaks and all that New York stuff (including a delish cheesecake!).

West 14th, Oceana residences, The Palm Jumeirah
