A visit to the baby aisle in the grocery store or pharmacy in search of products for my little people takes me far longer than I’d like to admit. I scour labels for ingredients that sound more suited to a science experiment than a babies bottom and get sucked into buying all sorts of products simply because they come in packaging that looks like it cares. There are just so many choices to make as a mama that it’s easier sometimes to give up and make a non-informed one or actually just bathe the kids in my own mama products and slather them with heavily scented body lotion – not ideal (and the boys weren’t keen on smelling ‘stinky’ – their words not mine!). Skin and bath products for kids are one of those areas where I have never really made the effort to break out of what’s available in the supermarket. So I was super excited when Four Cow Farm sent over a bumper pack of goodies for the Sassy Mama Dubai team (and kids) to try.
From an all over wash to nappy cream and lots of gorgeous stuff in between, Four Cow Farm has your tots covered from head to toe – and although the labelling suggests that they’re baby products, they’ve been as perfect for my 4 year old Felix as they have been for little Violet aged 19 months and as they would be for a teeny newbie. Having inherited their mamas sensitive skin and also being a little prone to eczema, I’ve been seriously impressed by the fact that the Four Cow Farm range is 100% natural and made by ‘nanna’ on a farm in Australia (check out their website for the most amazing piccies of their location). They are totally free of all nasties, which means no parabens, propylene glycol, sulfates, artificial fragrances or colours. The bath soaps and gels are made from pure castile soap and everything is suitable for the most sensitive of skin so actually they have a particular following amongst parents whose kiddos suffer from irritated skin and eczema.
The calendula balm is my particular fave as it can be used on dry lips and little cuts and scrapes (you know those ones where your little ones insist on having a plaster put on it even though you know it’s not necessary – now I grab the “magic balm” instead!) plus it’s really helped with eczema patches and I’ve been using it on my hands post washing up to keep them soft and moisturised. Fellow Sassy Mama Sofia swears by the Tea Tree Balm for chapped skin and insect bites – and says it’s fab even for nappy rash. We’ve fallen hard for Four Cow Farm purely from the fact that these products are genuinely fantastic. Give them a go mamas!
We get sent a lot of products to try at Sassy, and many of them are really good, but Four Cow Farm is one of the only ones to get the full “love” seal of approval so we wanted to share. Prices are reasonable when you consider how long they last and you can pick up the range at Holland & Barrett stores across Dubai and the UAE, as well as at Db Babies and the Ananta Spa, Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi.
