Accessible, Affordable Organic Beauty

A peek through the window at Kure Beauty & Spa is exciting enough – shelves packed with scrummy organic skincare ranging from well-respected brands to their very own blends of essential oils and the cutest decor – but step inside and you’re transported to the most amazing world of holistic beauty that is not only completely accessible but also affordable. I have vowed to take better care of my skin – now that I’m over that hill and getting VERY old – but find it impossible to figure out which spa or treatment is the one to choose, so when news of Dubai’s first organic beauty store and spa landed on my desk it all fell into place. The brainchild of mama Myriam Sarfati whose mission started when her little boy suffered terrible burns (such an inspiring lady, we’ll be featuring her soon so watch this space), Kure is all about healing treatments and the very best products to replenish and revive.

Kure Organic Beauty

My problem? tired, stressed, dehydrated skin (not enough sleep, too little water, a love of caffeine, chocolate – and all the other stuff too), something that most mamas over the age of 40 (yikes!) can relate to. Kure is all about nourishing your skin using the most natural products. This holistic wellness centre is dedicated to taking beauty treatments and services to a whole new level using natural, organic products – getting you sorted from head (scalp relaxation) to toe (even their nail polishes are non-toxic).

Kure Beauty & Spa

I opted for a Raw Facial, a treatment that combines completely natural ingredients including papaya pulp, cucumber and raw vegetables with oils blended for your particular skin type and time of day. Yup, these guys understand that you may need a little help with waking up and facing the day first thing – or with relaxing and preparing for a night of blissful sleep at the end of the day. Genius. The design of the space (which is located in the Jumeirah Park Plaza) reflects the spa’s ethos – which is all about keeping things simple and ‘kure-ing’ the body and mind. With oodles of natural elements and earthy tones, each treatment room is unique –  with stunning hand-painted tiled floors in different shades and accessories made of wood, metal and stone. And of course there are the fluffy white towels, dimmed lighting and other staples to make you feel cosy, comfortable and relaxed – the essentials of any spa treatment.

My therapist soon had me in a land not that far away from nod – cleansing, scrubbing, getting rid of icky stuff and replenishing my skin with a beautiful pomegranate oil that I snapped up in the shop on the way home – it was that good. I opted for the 60 minute facial (there’s a 30 min option too) which included a shoulder and head massage that I’ve been dreaming of ever since – completely heavenly. It’s not often you see skincare results immediately but I can honestly say that my face looked brighter and healthier plus felt so smooth – even the husband noticed (and considering I’ve changed my hair style and colour without him even blinking this is no mean feat).

Kure Organic Beauty

No visit to Kure would be complete without a stop in their serene mani/pedi room – once you see it you’ll know what I mean. There are no pedicure thrones here, just very stylish lounge chairs and bowls for your feet – perfect for just sinking in and chilling out – and gorgeous dip-dyed floaty curtains that add to the room’s golden glow. Nail treatments are complimented by a freshly pressed organic juice designed to revive or relax according to the time of day and with Kure’s very own oils in ‘D-Stress’, ‘Energy’ ,’Blow Away’ or ‘Natural’ depending not only on the clock but on your personal needs.

Kure Organic Beauty

Kure is a little sanctuary in the city, perfect for when you want to find that peaceful moment in your day (who doesn’t) –  and when a mani/pedi, waxing appointment or treatment in one of the regular salons just doesn’t cut it. And if you’re looking for the ultimate in skin and haircare then this is your place – with ranges from John Masters Organics, Ren, Elemis, GlamGlow and more – plus their very own top of the range essential and carrier oils, there’s everything here for the whole family to feel and look good and all at a price-point that hasn’t gone Dubai crazy. I love.
