TravelPost Category - TravelTravel - Post Category - Short HaulShort Haul

Here at Sassy Mama we love a good holiday and you only have to take a quick look at our travel section to see just how far we’re prepared to go to bring you the lowdown on the most kid-friendly vacation spots out there. That’s why we decided to pull together our favourite Singapore family hotels, from our dearest Sassy Mama Singapore team, and package them up neat and nice – just for you.

D'Kranji Farm Resort

D’Kranji Farm Resort

A hop, skip and an expressway away on the outskirts of Singapore is the D’Kranji Farm Resort — Singapore’s first “Agri-tainment” farm. With fully air-conditioned family suites overlooking the Kranji countryside, an on-site spa for the mamas (yay!), the local fruit farm for the kiddos to wander through, plus on-site fishing if your tykes fancy danging in a line, there’s plenty to keep the whole gang occupied at this countryside retreat. The fact that it really feels like you’re getting away from it all and all under an hour drive from the city centre is just the icing on the cake.

Hard Rock Hotel

A hotel with a difference, a stay at the Hard Rock Hotel is sure to impress young guests, especially when there’s a supervised Kids Club on-site to keep them busy! From AED 35 per hour, your little charges 3+ will be kept busy with arts and crafts, story telling sessions, music and movement and a host of other activities, while you spend hours lazing by the hotel’s huge free-form swimming pool (complete with mini wet play zone for the teeny tinies). All rooms come equipped with a pull out bed making it an easy getaway for families desperate for a bit of time-out!

Marina Bay Skypark

Marina Bay Sands

There’s a lot to be said for a vacation at Marina Bay Sands. Minimalist rooms (nothing much for kids to break!), breath-taking views and a 150-metre rooftop infinity pool that’s perfect for a splash and dash with the kiddos… as you can see there’s so much to love! Its location on the harbour makes it perfect for a bit o’ breaky with a view, plus there’s stacks to do with the kids in the Marina Bay Shoppes (ice-skating, sanpan rides, an indoor playcentre and kids fashion shopping) as well as the new children’s playground at Gardens by the Bay.

Raffles Hotel Pool

Raffles Hotel

The one and only Raffles Hotel is also the perfect inner-city spot to retreat to for a bit of well-deserved rest and relaxation with the fam. With high colonial ceilings and large spacious rooms, there’s more than enough room for the whole gang, and with a 24-hour Butler on hand to deliver that much-need cup of tea whenever you need it, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the beauty of the Raffles. Chill out by the rooftop swimming pool (mama can hit up the spa — one of the best massages we ever had was here!), explore the grounds with the tykes in tow, and maybe even indulge in a bit of afternoon tea… all before retreating to the quiet of your fabbo hotel room.

Rider’s Lodge

If a stroll through the “countryside” with the kids is more your thing, then you definitely need to check in for a weekend at Rider’s Lodge. As close to the country as you’re probably going to get in Singers, this colonial hotel features 40 guest rooms (extra beds can be provided), a day spa for the ‘rents, a cute little French bistro, as well as pony rides for the kiddos on the weekends! This no-frills retreat at HorseCity is one of the easiest getaway spots to get to and is sure to leave you recharged for the week ahead.

shangrila hotel singapore

Shangri-La Hotel

A quick walk from the heart of Orchard Road (and the Botanic Gardens), the Shangri-La Hotel is big enough to fit the whole brood, but quiet enough that it feels like a real break from the everyday grind. With a lush swimming pool for water babies, a fully equipped wellness spa, health club and tennis courts there’s plenty here to keep all members of the gang happy. Plus if you visit on weekends there’s kids entertainment galore, with balloon sculpting, face painting, and other fun activities in the main dining areas. Winning!

Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa

Our go-to destination for a “beach” holiday with the fam., Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort is the one of the best kid-friendly stays in Singapore. Tucked away at the end of Siloso Beach, the resort spills out onto the sand, where there’s oodles of space for the kiddos to build sandcastles while mama kicks back with something cold. The swimming pools are decked out with water slides and fountains, and the 110sqm two-story supervised kids’ club, Cool Zone, provides kiddos 5 to 12 with tons of fun activities — there’s even a giant tree house slide for kids to hurl themselves down! Comfy suites and babysitting services complete the offerings for families.

siloso beach resort pool

Siloso Beach Resort

Perfectly positioned opposite Siloso Beach on Sentosa Island, this tranquil eco-resort prides itself on its green policy, with eco-concsious dining options and rustic (but comfy) hotel suites. If getting the kids close to nature is the aim of your weekend staycation, then you’ll certainly find it at this secluded getaway, with family suites big enough for the whole brood, a 95-metre spring water landscape pool, and a cosy beachfront cafe… plus it’s only a 5-minute stroll to many of Sentosa’s fun-filled activities. Sounds great to us!

Treetop Lofts at Resorts World

Another Sentosa  suggestion, the Treetop Lofts: Angsana and Tembusu is every child’s dream holiday destination — because you’re staying in a treehouse! Perched 12-metres off the ground, and with stunning views of Sentosa Island (plus access to the free-form swimming pool at Beach Villas), this is definitely one to bring the big kids to (they’ll love it!).

W Hotel Singapore

Tucked away at the end of the Sentosa Cove, the super trendy, W Hotel is perfect for a weekend stay with the gang. Vibrant colours, polished stone bathtubs and huge rooms with tons of space greet visitors, but we especially love that they never close their massive swimming pool! So if you’ve got early risers (or papa is on kid-duty while mama was a little lie-in) you can take the kiddies for a splash first thing, before breaky at the The Kitchen Table (where live-cooking stations will keep small audiences occupied). The hotel’s location next to Quayside Isle makes it great for a stroll with the kiddos, and with the new “pirate” playground at Sentosa Cove, it’s one fabbo destination for a quick holiday.

wanderlust tree room

Wanderlust Hotel

This hidden gem isn’t just for the grown-ups… it’s great for little ones too! Housed in a former 1920s school house, this super trendy boutique hotel is a great option for a quick sojourn with the kiddies, especially when there’s a choice of 9 loft rooms with five varying themes. Let your little one’s imagination soar with themed rooms that include ‘Bling’, ‘Space’, ‘Tree’, ‘ASCII’ or ‘Typewriter’ (because staying in a treehouse is too cool for school), plus it’s an easy stroll to the treasures of Little India and Kampong Glam.
