Weekend Activities & Family Friendly Fun Over The Next Few Days!

It’s going to be another warm and steamy weekend, mamas, but there is plenty to keep the fam entertained, without melting! From a live screening of Peter Pan, to a Pre-Eid market to shop for those gifts, a family-friendly Eid celebration at Times Square Centre to a makeup class especially for teenage daughters, it’s time to grab your diaries and start scribbling! Marvelous Eid Celebration at Times Square Centre

Head out of the heat and into a magical world of bubbles, kids play and Arabian hospitality at Times Square Centre this Eid. Packed with activities, this family friendly mall is putting on a celebration that’s guaranteed to be a huge hit with the kiddos – from games to an awesome bubble show plus arts, crafts and loads more – including a meet & greet with characters Aladdin and Jasmine and a play area for burning off some of that energy. National Theatre Live Screening of Peter Pan

We’d love to transport our children to the National Theatre in London to watch a live performance of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan – but alas, booking a flight is probably a little extreme. No need to miss out though Mamas, as The Courtyard Playhouse (located in Al Quoz, opposite Bounce) is going to play a recorded performance of the much-lauded show on both Friday and Saturday afternoon this weekend. The theatre doesn’t charge for entrance so no need to buy tickets (although donations are definitely welcome) – but make sure you RSVP online here, as it’s bound to be popular!

Arte Ramadan and Pre-Eid Market

Still looking for Eid gifts for the fam, Mama? Look no further than Arte Market on Friday, where artisans from across the UAE will be showcasing and selling their hand-crafted and unique array of products. Not only is there underground parking (a bit of a relief in this hear, right Mamas?) but the entrance is free – and you can also take part in workshops and watch demonstrations. Perfect start to the weekend!

Sketching Session at Dubai Garden Centre

Join Urban Sketchers Dubai at this free event on Friday afternoon, where you can pick up your pencils and start sketching. You’ll be surrounded by foliage and greenery as you get creative, with a café, second hand bookshop, and lots of nooks and crannies around the garden centre offering further inspiration. Urban Sketchers offer regular events just like this, with the chance to sketch on location and share with the world, one drawing at a time. Perfect for creative Mamas – and there’s nothing stopping you taking the kiddos along too!

Teens Beauty Workshop

Are you Mama to a teenage girl? Sign them up for this workshop on Saturday morning, where they will be treated to an introduction to personal grooming, skincare, and age-appropriate makeup. Taken my professional makeup artist Anna Heenan, the session will be fun, practical and informative – and it’ll leave your teenage daughter feeling confident after the two-hour bespoke lesson. Eid Festive Fun at Caboodle

Eid Mubarak, Mamas! Why not celebrate by heading down to Caboodle in The Dubai Mall or City Walk from Saturday (and until the end of Monday), where lucky kiddos will be treated to activities including face painting, storytelling, balloon bending, Arabian lantern creation, and access to the play area. And the best bit? All this fun for the usual price of standard entry – and you can sit down and relax while the kiddos have fun!
