Welcome back to the weekend, mama – one of the last few before school finishes up! We’ve found a few great events for you this time round including a fun Italian family day, a couple of great farmers and crafts markets, a baby led weaning workshop as well as a few sneaky promotions (did somebody say warehouse sale?). It’s all here in our Weekender!

An Italian Day Out

Family friendly (and super yummy) Italian resto Carluccio’s is holding just over two weeks of amazing classes, promotions and activities for the kiddos that have us grinning. This Friday, the tots will be able to get their face painted between 10am-5pm for a perfect after breakfast or lunch treat. There’s also going to be a Biscuit Decorating Class on Saturday between 4-6pm for just AED 50 – stick around a little while afterwards for dinner mamas, there’s also going to be a bit of live jazz starting at 6pm!

Always a hit with the Dubai community, Ripe’s started their summer series of their outdoor markets. You can grab everything from food, clothing (how cute are these shoes Kaya picked up?), kids toys and groceries from local Dubai businesses – we’re all for giving back! Don’t forget to stop by one of the awesome food trucks.

Run by the amazing Amy Vogelaar from Love Parenting UAE, this weekend session is designed to help parents with kiddos aged 4+ transition from purees to solid food. You don’t have to worry about finding a babysitter either as tots are more than welcome to come along. Register by emailing amyvogelaar@yahoo.com – remember, if you register with a friend you get AED 50 off!

Better break out those plastics, mama. Wafi Mall’s home to this fab bazaar, which we’re sure you’ve probably spotted at some point. With over 50 amazing stalls from local vendors, you’ll be able to grab beautifully handcrafted goods ranging from African Art to Ceramics to spruce up your home and closets. This fab event is held every Saturday so if you haven’t been yet, there’s no time like the present!

cine splashBreak out the popcorn
We’re big, big fans of Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club’s Cine Splash night, where you can chill out in the pool while watching a couple of great children’s films. Held twice a week, this week’s films are Alice in Wonderland and Chicken Little on Thursday and Rio 2 and Kung Fu Panda 2 on Friday. The price include a towel and popcorn – plus, it’s open to non-members as well.

When: 4-5 June, 7pm onwards (guest tickets available at 6:30pm)

So by now, you’ve probably realised kiddo clothing and essentials cost a pretty penny – especially if you want the good quality stuff.
