To celebrate the weekend (finally!) we’ve picked some of our favourite family activities to do in the desert city! From mermaids at Dubai Aquarium to Baby Bazaar, Ripe Market’s Summer Edition and more, here’s to a fun, heat-free weekend!

Mermaid Show at Dubai Aquarium

Treat your kiddies to an underwater fairytale where they can enjoy a special Mermaid Show every Thursday, Friday and Saturday (4pm, 6pm and 8pm) – and we’re talking ‘real’ (wink, wink) mermaids swimming about in the Aquarium’s beautiful fish-filled tanks. Magical. Want to take it to the next level? Well there’s also the chance to interact with the mermaids with a special Meet & Greet where they can take a picture with their favourites

Baby Bazaar

Visit the Baby Bazaar this Saturday in Mirdif on and get the best buys on baby wear in Dubai. Whether you are looking for toys, books, clothes, prams, there’s something for everyone. WIth mamas clearing out their pre-loved items, you can get everything you need at great prices. Expect a selection of beautiful gifts, clothing, baby equipment and more. See you there!

Ripe Market Summer Edition

The city’s favourite market continues into the month of May, mama! Only this time, it’s moving indoors in honour of the scorching Dubai summer. Spend your time leisurely browsing interesting craft stalls and picking up fresh, organic, and locally sourced produce provided by passionate business owners.

When: Every Saturday until the end of October (9am-3pm)
Where: Times Square Centre
How much: Free entry

Live Jazz at Dubai Garden Centre

Who doesn’t love some Jazz on the weekend? Bring the fam for a lovely, relaxed afternoon with live music, delicious cakes and a cuppa (sounds like the perfect combo to us) at the cafe while kiddies make friends with the fish at the aquarium.

Movies at VOX Kids

Looking for places to pass a few hours in the shade? How about dropping the kiddies off at VOX Kids so you can shop and spend time with the hubby while the little ones enjoy movies featured this week including “The Boss Baby”, “Smurfs: The Lost Village” and “Beauty and the Beast”? Don’t forget the popcorn, mama!
