The Weekender: Swan Lake, The Mine Pops and More

Got any plans this weekend, mama? We’ve found some of the coolest things to go off and do, from an incredible circus to a few fabulous parties. It’s all here in our Weekender!

Here’s a ballet that won’t have the kiddos falling asleep in their chairs! The Great Chinese State Circus are coming to town with their adaptation of Swan Lake, so expect a whole lot of tumbling, back flipping and crazy feats that’ll make your eyes boggle. Fusing together Peking Opera and Chinese Acrobatics, they’re fresh off a world tour in over 106 cities so you’ll definitely want to see them.

Jungle gym
Got a little monkey with oodles of energy? My Gym Jumeirah has just opened and they’re throwing parties to celebrate, where your kiddos can participate in all their fun activities and have a great time. It’s not a party without refreshments and My Gym’s providing them all, however you will have to remind your kiddos to wear socks and reserve a slot in advance below. Petit Picassos
Save your white walls and take the kiddos aged 3+ to SAF Art Spaces’ Children’s Drawing Workshop instead. They’ll learn how to draw a still life object under the team’s watchful eye after learning the basics of what makes a still life drawing a great one, which sounds fantastic. Keep an eye on their website for any updates and pencil this one in – it helps it’s totally free too!

Dubai’s exciting new pop-up market The Mine Pops is back with some old school cool, presenting some of the coolest local designers alongside a thrift shop (we always love a good thrift shop!). Bring your old threads and sell them to a happy home at The Thrift Shop – maybe even put that money towards upgrading those beaten up heels, mama! With everything from fashion to design to snag alongside music and food to usher in those weekend vibes, you’ll want to head over for this one.
