We’re getting into the swing of Ramadan, mamas (don’t forget to check out our list of places that are open during the day), and we’ve got everything you need to check out over the weekend. Head indoors to Dubai Sports World to burn off some steam with the minis or learn about the holy festival with an iftar led by the SMCCU. We’ve also got plenty of shopping events to satisfy your soul…

The Courtyard Playhouse is putting on a theatrical show for mamas and bubs this weekend. The kids theatre division is putting on a wonderful interactive improvised tale about the strangeness of the adult world. Travel along with The Little Prince as he encounters even stranger characters. Suitable for kids aged 4-11.

When: Friday, 10 June, 1pm & 3pm

If you and your family are a sporty bunch, check out Dubai Sports World. You’ll get to enjoy your fave sports indoors (beat the heat!). Book a court or pitch with mates and bring the gang down to enjoy football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and more.

The awesome Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding is definitely somewhere you want to be headed this Ramadan. Holding a daily family-friendly Iftar, you’ll be able to learn more about what happens during Ramadan as well as the cultural traditions behind it all. Beginning with a call to prayer, it all wraps up with some dates and coffee which is always a plus.

We love a good farmer’s market here in Dubbers, so why not head to Times Square for ARTE, the bi-monthly handmade urban arts and craft market? Shop fine and casual jewellery, visual arts, photography prints, gourmet foods, toys, clothing and more. There’s free parking, too. Enjoy!
