Parisian Chic

The So Chic ladies share their top tips for looking fabulous in Paris this season.
Now we just need an excuse to go…

Whilst living in France, we previously instinctively knew what to wear, when and how to style it – this was second nature as Parisians living in the style capital. However, after a few years in Dubai wearing summer clothes and adopting the Dubai lifestyle, surprisingly we are faced with a style predicament when travelling to our home country.

Each time we prepare our suitcase to travel to Europe, we have to seek out the hidden depths of our wardrobe since these pieces are totally useless in Dubai! When it’s 30 degrees outside, it’s true that it’s quite hard to imagine ourselves walking the cold streets of Paris wearing our styled up layers like years before.

No more hesitating for hours faced with coats and pull overs that inspire you as much as a Fondue savoyarde in August. The So Chic team shares three looks with you which you can’t go wrong with in Paris…

Whatever the reason is for your trip (and you need a very good one if you look at the temperature in Paris right now), you probably have a shopping trip agenda, an evening at a trendy nightspot, an important business meeting or just a much-deserved weekend break with your husband or girlfriends!

What to wear in Paris - French Style

Look 1: The shopping day

Rifling through the So Chic closet, Pauline found black leather pants from Sandro, Isabel Marant sneakers (Stan Smith also get our vote!)  a wool coat from Isabel Marant and a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag (that can be closed with a zip!). The complete black look does not indicate a lack of imagination for the chic Parisian. Black is a real colour and our personal favourite.

Look 2: A night out

It’s cold and we are not ready to freeze! Pauline found black leather pants (leather is chic and warm), a metallic Sandro pull over, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Givenchy clutch. This pull over is just perfect and we’re in no hesitation about taking it with us (even if metallic is not the typical Parisian uniform!).

Look 3: The business outfits

We chose two looks which can cleverly be worn for a night out without having to go back to the hotel to change…

Business 1: Pauline is wearing a The Kooples coat, a white shirt from Celine, Paul and Joe black pants whilst carrying a Gucci laptop case.

Business 2: Pauline is wearing a Maje black leather skirt, a Sandro grey and white pull over and a Celine bag for a very sleek but stylish look.

Final tips:

Don’t forget your scarfs, gloves and remember to pack as many layers as possible, not forgetting your trusty black boots!
