Deck The Halls: Where To Buy The Best Christmas Trees & Decorations In Dubai

StylePost Category - StyleStyle - Post Category - Style For HomeStyle For Home

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas (yes, even if it is 32 degrees outside and the sun is streaming through the palm trees). Need a little help getting in the holiday mood? What better way than to transform your home into a winter wonderland complete with tree and a heap of festive accessories. It’s time to deck those halls with the best decorations in Dubai!

Christmas Trees

Whether you’re faking it or after the real deal, we’ve got the best spots to pick up your tree mamas!

Christmas Tree 1

Ace Hardware
If you stumble through the aisles at Ace Hardware and into a forest in Narnia, don’t worry mamas – it’s just their massive Christmas tree selection. Aside from the classic green in a number of heights, they’ve put a spin on the staple with artificial firs with pinecones and berries, as well as statement snowy trees that’ll positively illuminate your home. If you’re still longing for that good old Christmas spice, pick up some Scentsicles to hang on your tree which come in a number of festive scents like cinnamon, fir and more. Fake trees not quite cutting it? No worries mamas, skip past the artificial aisle and follow your noses to Ace Hardware’s real fir trees (which just recently arrived!). Shipped from North America, if you’re one of the lucky mamas who pre-ordered in mid-November then you’re guaranteed one of these babies. However you might as well try your luck and see if there are any still in stock!

Carrefour
Head over to Carrefour this year mamas for an affordable (yet stylish) artificial Christmas tree! With a number of different shapes and styles, you can opt for a classic green or feel the winter chill with snow-tipped version. Keep an eye out for their other quirkily coloured trees and break away from the standard colour scheme (flamingo pink anyone?).

Christmastreesuae.com
One very clever mama decided to import the most delicious smelling Fraser pine trees from Quebec, Canada to our desert city and we love her for it! With beautiful dark green needles that don’t drop out the minute you get it home this choice is guaranteed to see you through December. Check out their site for more details and to drop them a message – there are often cancellations for trees so don’t be disheartened if it looks like they’ve all sold out!

Dubai Garden Centre
Oh Christmas trees, oh Christmas trees; your scarcity in the desert panics us! Don’t worry though mamas, Dubai Garden Centre has shipped in gorgeously scented Nordman firs this winter – at 2.5 metres tall, they’ll certainly make for the most impressive centerpieces! Get in while stocks last!

Christmas Tree 3
Home Centre
Kill two birds with one stone and grab one of Home Centre’s pre-lit Christmas trees! These gorgeous trees are between 6 and 10 feet tall (probably a better option for those of you with high ceilings) and all come in a deep luscious evergreen. Don’t worry if you haven’t the space though ladies, they’re doing glass trees perfect for your dining table or mantelpiece as well!

Ikea
Well mamas, are you surprised Ikea has showed up again? With two different tree size options (150cm/180cm) along with a more modest one that comes in its own pot, they’re great quick fixes for your inner interior decorator. Trees not enough for you? Why not scoop up some of their simple artificial wreaths or holly sprays for some jollier greens?

Satwa
Head to ‘Plant Street’ (that’s Al Hudaiba Street for anyone who hasn’t been) and take your pick from a number of little stores displaying their real trees on the pavements. If you’re really determined you’ll be able to haggle these guys down to a decent price although be prepared for some serious negotiation skills! Prices range anywhere from AED 350 to AED 700 depending on how lucky you are on the day. We love the Satwa option with the kids – many of the stores have large areas out back that are literally transformed into miniature evergreen forests for the festive holiday – if you close your eyes and breathe in the pine-scented air you can almost forget that you’re in the middle of a desert.

Spinneys
With a number of Spinneys supermarkets across Dubai, you’ll be happy to hear that they’re flying in a select number of Christmas tree straight from the USA to the desert city! Available now (but hurry they’re selling fast), treat your family to a festive fir this holiday season. And if you’re after a fresh pine wreath for your door then look no further – Spinneys are selling them for AED 85 – BARGAIN!

Uber
No we haven’t gone mad – one of our fave modes of transport is now delivering fresh trees right to your door for the bargain price of AED 350 including a stand! Partnering up with Oleander (a fab Jumeirah based florist), the trees are amazing quality mamas! This offer is limited – check the UberTREES option on the app to see if you can still grab it!

Warsan
Mamas in the know used to swear by Warsan (or the Plant Souk – out in the desert just passed dragonmart) for bagging a real bargain every time Chrimbo rolled around but it seems that the guys here have realised that they were sitting on a gold mine and prices have increased hugely. Saying that, there are still some great fresh trees to be had – just make sure to haggle!

Decorations

Okay, so you got the tree – now comes the fun part! Whether you’re a traditional kind of gal or you like to splash a bit of funky colour about there are some totally gorgeous decorations out there – and here’s where to find them.
