Sometimes a family meal out is exactly what’s needed to break up the routine so Sassy Mama Lena headed to Clinton Street Baking Company in City Walk for pancakes, tacos and brunch New York style….
The Vibe
An Urban vibe restaurant and friendly meeting place. A piece of Upper East side New York in the ever so chic City Walk neighborhood. A friendly and yet quirky atmosphere that takes you away to brunching posh style in the Big Apple.
The Food
We enjoyed the best of everything starting including a light kale citrus salad, crispy loaded potato skins and the ever-so-succulent fillet fish taco with a fresh salsa garnished with cilantro and lime. I don’t want to leave out hubby’s main of the “wavy” (New Yorker slang for nice), delicately fried chicken and waffles enjoying a sweet and savory New York classic (Not so frugal on the waist line but so god if you’ve never had it!) The dessert also cannot be left out as we enjoyed the warm date cake with caramel and homemade vanilla ice cream. Yum!
Room for Improvement
Nothing here as Clinton St. Bakery proved every bit as urban as it was delicious. Cannot wait to get my girlfriends together here for a breakfast menu that’s also available served in smaller portions for a quick mama coffee morning!
What we Loved Most
Good ‘ol homemade and quality food and a wholesome urban vibe plus homemade pies: apple, pumpkin, pecan… am looking forward to the Thanksgiving menu and that all American experience.
