Keeping Your Family Healthy

Made a resolution to treat your family’s health as a top priority in 2017, Mama? We’re right with you – and now is the perfect time to find a healthcare clinic in Dubai that can look after the whole family over the year ahead. From obstetrics, to paediatricians, to general family practitioners, it’s time to get your address books at the ready!

City Centre Clinic

Rushed off your feet, Mama? We know how you feel, which is why we recommend hunting for a family medical centre close to your home to make life that little bit easier. There are four City Centre Clinics across Dubai, with locations including Deira, Me’aisem, Al Barsha, and Ibn Battuta – and with Family Medicine being a speciality of all four clinics, the whole fam can be treated under one roof. And if that makes life a little easier, it’s music to our ears.

Cooper Health Clinic

Ask for recommendations for medical clinics here in Dubai and ‘Cooper Health Clinic’ will be one name that keeps popping up – and it’s for very good reasons, Mamas! With a team of experienced paediatricians and midwifes on site, along with services including antenatal classes, baby massage courses, baby café meet-ups for new mums, and a vaccination clinic, every base is covered as you take on motherhood and the journey that follows.

Dr Keith Nicholl Medical Centre

This clinic is headed up by British paediatrician Dr Keith Nicholl – and if you want a highly experienced, old-school approach to healthcare, this clinic is a very sound bet (you only have to mention Dr Nicholl’s name in Mamas circles to hear the recommendations come flooding in!) But it isn’t just kids that are catered for at the Jumeirah Beach Road location, as they offer general appointments and specialist services for adults too. Definitely a healthcare gem!

Dubai London Clinic

First opening its doors in Dubai in 1987, Dubai London Clinic has an impressive 30 years of healthcare experience in Dubai under its belt. There are three locations now open across Dubai – and we recommend heading to the Dubai Festival City branch, which specialises in family medicine. Whether you are newly pregnant, looking for a paediatrician for the brood, or looking for an experienced doctor yourself, the clinic can step in and cater for all of you under one roof.

Dubai Physiotherapy & Family Medicine Clinic

Don’t be put off by the word ‘physiotherapy’ in the name Mamas, as this clinic is known for its brilliant family medicine facility, with a team of experienced doctors to provide trusted healthcare to the whole family. Whether you (or the littlies) are feeling under the weather, need immunisations, or want to book in for a Well Woman or Man test, this clinic is the place to head. And if you do ever need physiotherapy, we have it on very good authority that few places in the city beat this one – so get ready to scribble the name in your little black book.

familyFIRST Medical Center

When a clinic is led by a medical director who happens to be a mother, you know they will understand what is important to you and your kiddos, right Mamas? And that’s exactly the case at familyFIRST, located on Al Wasl Road which is led by specialist obstetrician Dr Farnaz Ahmed. She heads up a dedicated team of medical professionals that can take you from obstetricians, to paedetricians, to family doctors – all who are trained and worked in either the UK or Europe prior to their move to the clinic.

Healthbay Polyclinic

Healthbay is one clinic that can be with you every step of the way, Mamas – right from the days of early pregnancy for those first obstetrician appointments, to antenatal classes with your husband when your bump gets bigger, to popping in to have your baby regularly weighed, to appointments with a pedetrician as your child grows up. A special mention goes to the brilliant midwife service, which offers experienced lactation advice (breastfeeding isn’t always easy, right Mamas?), packages of home visits when your baby is tiny, and regular baby clinics to check everything is going swimmingly with your new bundle of joy.

Infinity The Family Medical Clinic

Live in Jumeirah, Mama? Infinity The Family Clinic first opened its doors in your ‘hood in 2007 – and it’s a great option for family medicine ever since. With an obstetrics and gynaecology department, visits to the clinic can begin with pregnancy – and when baby arrives, you can move to the paediatrics department (we hear some great things about the medical professions at this clinic, Mama!)

Pediatricians and baby

Want a local clinic, Mama? Perhaps one you can walk to – or at least swing round the corner to in the car? If you live in one of the Dubai areas with a Mediclinic, you are in luck, with eight community clinics scattered across the city. Register at your closest clinics, whether that’s The Dubai Mall, Ibn Battuta, Al Sufouh, Beach Road, Al Qusais, Mirdif, Arabian Ranches, or the Meadows – and you will find a choice of very experienced family doctors, paedetricians, and specialists to tend to every medical need.

The Children’s Medical Centre

You’d expect a medical facility called The Children’s Medical Centre to be focused around your child’s happiness – and that is definitely true of this facility. Kids will feel relaxed and happy from the moment they walk through the door, with a kid’s play area, dedicated breastfeeding room, and team of warm, friendly, and very experienced paedetricians to look after them for general appointments, hearing tests, ultrasounds and X-rays, developmental assessments, speech therapy, and much more.
