The Healing Power Of Books With Gap

It’s the year of giving AND it’s The Holy Month of Ramadan, mamas, which calls for doing some good. And we know just how to help. Our friends at Gap have joined forces with “Wanna Read?”, an amazing non-profit initiative led by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to help young patients in hospitals across the UAE to heal through the power of books, by reading to children as a means of providing emotional support and creating warm and friendly reading environments within the hospitals with loads and loads of books for the kiddos.

Sounds fab right, but how can we help? It’s easy – you can visit any Gap store in the UAE to donate money which will be used to purchase books for the “Wanna Read?” libraries (ok and have a browse through the latest collection too….those summer dresses are dreamy). But it’s not all about the money, you can get your kids involved through storytelling sessions both in English and Arabic at selected stores (see below for details). Their storytellers will bring a heap of different books to life with their spirit and enthusiasm and will be sure to entertain your kiddos – the perfect reason to visit the mall (yes and to check out the Ramadan collection for the littles too).

Oh and just to highlight that giving theme, Gap are offering the first 50 shopppers who spend AED 350 during the events a discount of AED 100. Fabulous. See you there?
