Foodie News Flash: New Restaurants & Foodie Experiences in Dubai this February

Hello, it’s me, I was wondering if after all this time you’d like to eat? No? Is that not what the lyrics are to the Adele song? Forgive us, but we’re feeling a tad peckish and can’t stop thinking about all the fantastic food that Dubai’s offering up on a plate this month. From precious Parisian cafés, to picnics in the park and even a New York state of mind, here’s all the foodie news that’s whetting our appetites this month…

The Coffee Club

Do you spend your evenings trawling through Instagram after the kids have gone to bed, eyeing up those beautifully-made cups of coffee and the most divine looking cake? Us, too, and you’ve surely stumbled on these delicious winter warmers from The Coffee Club. Get caffeinated with their new 24-carat cappuccino, which is available at their newest Golden Mile branch from next week onwards… that’s sure to put a jolt in your step, as well as your wallet!

Totora

Transport to the heart of Peru thanks to new resto-bar-lounge Totora at DIFC Gate Village. This massive, two-floor space brings exciting and authentic flavours to our desert city… think fresh, quality ingredients for a romantic and elegant date night with hubby. We’ve yet to see the menu, but perhaps there’ll be some lomo saltado on it!

PAUL

So you’ve got grand plans to head outdoors for a picnic and to enjoy the stunning weather; the baby bag is packed, bubba is strapped into the latest set of wheels, SPF 50 has been liberally applied… all that’s left to sort out is the actual food! One of our fave French bakeries, PAUL has launched a range of picnic bags that are ready for purchase so you can enjoy breakfast or lunch alfresco. Breakfast bags (AED 109 for two, AED 178 for four people) include pastries, fruit salads, juices, jam, butter, and more. Lunch offerings include a choice of salads and sandwiches, éclairs and tarts as well as a handy picnic blanket to sprawl out on. Ah, time to relax in the sunshine!

Serendipity 3

Our sweet escape is New York – Serendipity 3, to be precise. It’s also the sweet escape of Beyonce, Oprah and Mariah. Schlep to New York no more for a taste of this cool café, as it just opened in Dubai Festival City! Chow down on the popular foot long hot dog, New York Steak of Mind, outrageous banana splits, and of course, the iconic Frrozen Hot Chocolate right here on our doorstep. We hear there’s a line ‘round the block…

Pizza Express

Woohoo – our all-time favourite pizza place, Pizza Express is heading to JBR! Prepare yourself for balls on balls on balls… ahem, we mean doughballs, of course. This easy breezy resto is a family favourite among the Sassy Mama Dubai team, and it’s popping-up until Saturday, 27 February in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Featuring live jazz music and an exclusive pizza menu, we’ll definitely be heading down with the tots in tow…

Valentine’s Day is rearing its head and if you’ve yet to plan something special for the big night, we love this unique experience from Cipriani and Seawings. Did someone just ask us about our new year’s resolutions? But it’s February… surely they’re long forgotten?! If you’ve got the resolve (and we applaud you for that, mama!) and are sticking to your super healthy guns, check out Skye & Walker, a new healthy neighbourhood eatery. Dishes are guilt-free, nutritious and cater to vegan, raw and gluten-free diets. There’s raw carrot cake on the menu. ‘Nuff said.
