Here at Sassy Mama HQ, one of our resolutions this year is to take better care of our skin (sunshine, late nights and early wake up calls have started to take their toll). We all know about the importance of a daily routine, but how about switching to organic products – do these really make a difference?
Beauty queen Eva Mendes, supermodel Kate Moss, and the ever perfect Jessica Alba all swear by Dr Hauschka’s range of organic skincare – and they are all hot mamas (with gorgeous skin). But is organic better for us and is it worth the higher price tag?
We took a trip to Organic Foods and Café’s skincare counter to chat with Michelle Hoskin, an expert in skincare and OFC’s Dr Hauschka Beauty Consultant (for those of you who haven’t tried the Dr. Hauschka range yet – their Rose Day Cream is DIVINE!) to find out more…
The Dr Hauschka range is organic and 100% certified natural (free from synthetic colours, dyes, parabens, sodium lauryl sulphates and other nasties). Every product contains extracts of medicinal herbs, used in a finely tuned composition, and designed to repair and maintain. ‘Products that are not natural contain parabens that can mimic oestrogen, and too much oestrogen can cause cancer”, explained Michelle. Well if that’s not one very good reason for going organic then we don’t know what is.
The Dr Hauschka beauty routine is simple (we love) and eliminates unnecessary steps including night creams, believing that skin needs to breathe as we sleep and swapping skin stripping exfoliators and peels with clay and steam bath masks to restore and invigorate.
Want to extend all that organic goodness into your makeup bag? Dr Hauschka has a fab range with amazing staying power but a natural look – the foundation had the desired ‘fresh faced, well rested’ effect – perfect if you’re short on sleep mamas!
For problem skin (we’re talking dryness, itching and skin prone to eczema), the medical range is ideal for mamas and babes alike – the Intensive Ice Plant Cream is an absolute miracle cure!
With over 130 products including hair oils, body oils, a bath range, hand cream, eye treatments and much more, we’re totally sold on going organic with Dr Hauschka. So here’s to happier, healthier skin mamas (and to looking more like Kate Moss maybe…?)
Dr Hauschka’s range is available at Organic Foods and Café.
