June – how on earth did you get here so quickly?! We are fast approaching the end of the school year and whether you’re up-and-leaving for the summer or sticking it out and braving the heat, we’ll have tips and tricks to get you through it (promise!).

Jetting off to cooler climes? Make sure you check out our guide to flying with kids and the stuff you really have to pack in your hand luggage. Speaking of which, our giveaway this month gives you the chance to win a Mountain Buggy Nano – seriously one of the sassiest buggies I’ve ever seen – it’s lightweight, folds like a dream and is teeny tiny enough to go up in the overhead locker on a plane (woohoo, no more struggling through the airport carrying a heap of kids and luggage!). My little girl Violet and I recently gave the Nano a test drive for a really fun stroller shoot, complete with gorgeous clothes from Harvey Nichols and blowdried hair by Be Bar. Violet was so well behaved and I was mega proud (she’s recently undone all that good work by refusing to sleep anywhere but my bed every night).

If you’re staying in Dubai then make sure to check out our guide to the best summer camps for kids – and our things to do with kids in the (very) hot months.

The end of school really does sneak up on you so why not make sure you get sorted with hair, nails and a little of that pampering stuff before the kids are off? Check out our top places for highlights in Dubai, a review of one of SLaM, one of the sassiest salons to open its doors recently plus lots more in our fitness & beauty section.

June will also see the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan (expected to start on 19th). Host an Iftar at home and get everyone to bring a dish or get out and about to break the fast with a group at one of the organised Iftar’s around town (all of the hotels from the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray to the Meydan are offering an Iftar feast as are the city’s eateries – from the super snazzy like Cle by Greg Malouf to the local everyday spots like Eggspectation at The Beach, JBR).

And finally mamas, it might be hot but don’t rule out a trip to the beach. Head out after the kiddies supper and swim through the sunset – it’s heavenly and the sea is a beautiful temperature – my littles and I recently shared the water with 5 dolphins on Kite Beach. Absolutely magical.
