A few of our favourite things to do this weekend
With Eid Al Adha scheduled to fall on 12 September, here are our favourite picks to help you decide where to celebrate over the long weekend (if you’re staying in town)…
Sometimes we get more excited than our littles when it comes to fireworks (admit it, mama). Head over to The Beach, JBR with the fam and join the desert city in a magical celebration of Eid Al Adha, as you take in the incredible fireworks display that will light up the skies! Grab your spots early and get up close with the best, unobstructed views of the spectacular show of pattern and sequence, colour and sound, brilliance and mobility.

Where: The Beach, JBR, Dubai
How much: Free!
Grab your dose of green at Ripe Summer Market this weekend! Widely known across the UAE as a selling platform for a plethora of small local businesses made up of unique, homegrown artisans, arts and crafts start-ups and gourmet food suppliers, Ripe offers offers families everything from organic produce to arts, crafts, fashion, and jewelry. No one does it quite like Baby Bazaar when it comes to weekend markets – and they’re back after the summer hols! Stock up on anything baby and toddler related from toys and books to bouncy chairs and cots at great prices. Your little ones can make new friends at the matted play area whilst you mingle with other mums. Book a second-hand sellers table if you have pre-loved baby, toddler & maternity items that need some love!

Pete’s Dragon opens in cinemas
The Dubai heat can be unbearable at the mo so we’re always in for some indoor fun! A reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film, “Pete’s Dragon” is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon. Take the kids to watch this family-favourite this weekend for an indoor treat.
