Friday’s finally here! We can’t wait to share with you our favourite things to do in the desert city this weekend; from The Gruffalo’s Child, Family Street Market at Dubai Marina, to World Octopus celebration at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, there’s LOTS do to with the fam!

Who’s ready to watch The Gruffalo’s Child live on stage? We are! Kiddies’ all-time favourite story character, The Gruffalo, returns with attitude for a monstrous tour of Dubai! One wild and windy night, the Gruffalo’s child ignores her father’s warning and tiptoes out into the snow. This magical, musical adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s captivating sequel will sure keep young ones on their seats and entertained! Don’t miss out this chance to meet one of the most beloved characters of all time!

Isn’t weekend the perfect time to browse around with the fam? The Marina Market at Marina Walk, behind Dubai Marina Mall specialises in vintage accessories, hand-made gifts, fair-trade goods, art and photography, sounds like the place to be. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby for a coffee break in-between shopping.

The fabulously funny and talented Horribly Histories team from The Birmingham Stage Company is back in the UAE for a hysterically historical recap of the biggest events and characters in the story of Britain! In addition to being factually bang-on, this marvellously conceived show is witty and entertaining, with clever performances and amusing sound effects. Whether they’re history lovers or loathers, kids will be riveted from start to finish.

Head to Sardinia this weekend for the second in Armani Hotel Dubai’s four-part master class series with Chef Alessandro Salvatico. Sharpen your knives and don an apron for four hours of hands-on tutelage, courtesy of a three-course menu featuring a traditional artichoke salad, fregola matecata with truffle and shrimp and roasted seabass served with olives and marjoram, all to be enjoyed over a leisurely lunch.

Did you know that 8 October is World Octopus Day? This day also marks the start of International Cephalopods Awareness Days – a whole week to celebrate the most intelligent invertebrates in the world! Bring the kiddies over to Kraken’s Lair at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and get in the spirit of the week seeing the creatures first-hand and enjoy fun-filled activities including themed henna painting and ‘creatO-yOur-OctO’ arts & crafts.
