A few of our favourite things to do this weekend
This is not just another weekend, mama (and it should never be!). There’s so much happening around the desert city and we’re excited to share our favourite picks with you…
Mobile pop-up food trucks are officially a thing in the UAE! Catch breakfast, lunch or dinner from six independent eateries surrounded by air con (and free WiFi!) where you won’t sweat into your shawarma. Think tender beef sliders, jam-packed burgers, and truffle fries (plus live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 8pm till late) – bring the fam over!

This newly opened museum in Dubai’s historical district displays a stunning range of artefacts unearthed from a new archeological dig at Saruq Al Hadid and takes you through the mysterious route of archaeological discoveries. Littles can get hands-on with culture and reconstruct a pot, assemble an animal skeleton, or even help the experts solve a mystery – don’t miss this chance to learn more about the story of Dubai!

Boasting a vast new outdoor seating area and massive screens both in a giant air-conditioned tent and on the beach, it’s truly the place to be as the atmosphere hits fever pitch during the Rio Olympics. So get yourself to Barasti for the sports, and enjoy a mix of great music and delicious food with the fam against the stunning backdrop of Dubai Marina.

Penn Masala are known for traversing traditional cultural boundaries and their music captures the experience of growing up with the amalgam of these cultures. Using state of the art technology, ‘Travel Around the World’ challenges players to fly across the globe on a hand glider high above some of the world’s most famous landmarks while sitting in an actual glider steering their way through the sky while fans create the feeling of wind – probs the only way to make your restless littles sit down for a bit!
