A few of our favourite things to do in Dubai this week
With yoga classes at KidZania, and the Dubai Nursery Show coming up, there is plenty to keep your calendar full this week…
KidZania, the unique ‘edutainment’ attraction in The Dubai Mall, is inviting mamas and littles to discover their inner ‘yogis’ and ‘yoginis’. With Mum & Baby Yoga, Young Kids Yoga (for 2 to 5 year olds), and a Kids Yoga Class (for 5+ year olds), there are classes that cater to all ages (and abilities – phew!). These experts believes it’s never too early to introduce children to the benefits of yoga. Enhanced flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness? Sounds good to us!
When: Friday, 29 and Saturday, 30 April
Where: Kidzania®, The Dubai Mall, from 12 noon to 5pm
How much: Check out the KidZania Facebook page
We are huge fans of Super Granny (check out our Editor’s personal review), so we are thrilled whenever shares her advice with the mamas and papas of Dubai! Andalene is a South African mama, and grand-mama, with a particular talent for restoring order in the home. Tantrums, fussy-eating or bad sleeping habits: she promises to fix them all. This session is all about recognising every kid is unique (yes, even siblings that like to scream “NO” in unison need different strategies). So if you’re looking to let your little one reach their full potential (yes, please!), then this is the chance.
When: Thursday, 28, April
Where: Just Kidding Wafi,
How much: Free entry
We all know picking a safe space for your little to learn can be tricky, and this is the perfect chance to catch a showcase of some fab nursery providers in Dubai. So if you’ve been hunting for a mama-approved resource, this interactive program offers us the chance to meet Dubai’s best nurseries! With entertainment, refreshments and prizes to be won, all in a relaxed space, there is absolutely no need for us to get overwhelmed by all the choices available. Their whole aim is to take away the confusion and stress of picking the ‘perfect’ school. Sounds pretty perfect to us.
When: April 29, 2016 – April 30, 2016
Where: Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), Dubai, UAE
How much: Free entry, and the whole fam is invited!
We could all use a little adults-only-time over the weekend, and this is a perfect unique date night idea! Enigma’s second act is the Journey of a Nordic Chef, introducing the cuisine’s gorgeous flavours to Dubai for the first time. Come hungry, and ready to indulge in all the food! The best bit? Two Michelin star chef Björn Frantzén (his restaurant, Frantzen, sits at number 31 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list!) is handling the whole thing – so we’re definitely in good hands. With options for a full story (12 dishes), and a half story (8 dishes), we’re expecting to leave stuffed…
When: Till the end of June
Where: Enigma, Palazzo Versace, Culture Village, Al Jadaf, Dubai, UAE
How much: Book your evening at Enigma here
If you’ve seen or heard about his latest cooking book, Essentially Marco, then you’re sure to be super excited about the global launch happing in Dubai. Featuring the very best of Marco, and exclusively published by Motivate, this book comes with a warning: “do not view when hungry”. Whether you’re looking for some new ideas, or a master-chef-in-the-making, it’s definitely worth getting some cooking tips from the godfather of modern cooking! We are already a fan of his restaurants across the UAE, and can’t wait to try the recipes out!
When: Tuesday, 26 April, from 6 to 7pm
Where: Kinokuniya, Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE
How much: Free entry
Have an awesome one, mamas!
