A few of our favourite things to do in & around Dubai this week

Bye April and hello May! We’ve picked a few family-friendly activities for you to kick off the new month, mama! Check out Mary Poppins The Musical at Dubai Opera, celebrate Star Wars Day with a Star Wars book reading event at Borders or join a fun cooking class at Culinary Boutique… there’s lots to do without facing the heat!

Perfect for parents and kiddies alike, the famous story of Mary Poppins will transport you back to a magical world of songs and happy memories. Meet Mary Poppins, the nanny who could fly around with her umbrella and find anything you could imagine in her bag, who comes to help two little kids and involves you in their adventures through fantastic effects and choreography. This award-winning performance is sure to win the hearts of every age.

My Big Fat Greek Dinner

Greek is the new chic (think elegant rustic decor accompanied by a gorgeous, mouthwatering Mediterranean feast), mama… join the super fun cooking class at Mamalu Kitchen designed for mums, wives and party enthusiasts! You’ll learn to make Spanakopita (spinach and feta phyllo pie), vegetarian moussaka, kleftiko (traditional Greek slow cooked lamb). Time to step up your cooking game!

Celebrate Star Wars Day With Star Wars Book Reading

Did you know May the 4th is Star Wars Day? Borders Dubai Festival City will welcome little ones to a special live book reading, during which enjoy excerpts of the famous books read in English. Each child attending will be gifted a free book and other Star Wars goodies – woohoo! Dress your little ones as their favourite Star Wars characters on this special day and join the fun! Spaces are limited to get there early to save a spot.

Health, Beauty & Well-being For Women And Their Kids Conference

We all want to know more about these topics, mama – the full day event will feature booth style exhibitors from across the UAE showing the latest technology, product and services in health, beauty and wellbeing related topics, from plastic surgery, body reshaping, physio therapy to diet, dental health and more. You’ll get to have a more in-depth understanding as there will be short sessions delivered by medical staff.  RSVP now for this free and engaging event!

Aventura Adventure Nature Park Summer Fun

Looking for outdoor activities for your restless littles in the afternoon? Dubai’s one-of-a-kind tree surfing, zip-lining, rope climbing adventure park, Aventura Adventure Nature Park, has launched new summer timings to accommodate for the hot summer months ahead. The park’s new summer hours will allow kiddies to enjoy the cooler early hours of the morning, and the beautiful dusk hours in the evening. Why not try out the 4:30pm briefing session and catch the sun setting from the top of the tree over the natural Ghaff tree forest in the evening?

When: April till end of June 2017, weekdays: morning (only groups), and open from 2:30pm until 7:00pm ; weekends: from 8:30am until 10:00am (last briefing), and from 2:30pm until 7:00pm
