Simple Steps For a Much Needed Detox Using Essential Oils

Spring cleaning isn’t just for your home! Now’s the perfect time to detox and cleanse yourself in preparation for the summer months.There are few simple steps to follow and, of course, I’m going to suggest you some great Essential Oils that can support your detox.

Eat Healthier and Natural

Try to avoid all processed food, lower your sugar amount and stick with vegetables, fruits, grilled chicken, nuts and beans. Avoid every food with “trans fats”, minimize sodium and choose carbs wisely.

You might want to use 1 or 2 drops of Peppermint Vitality Essential Oil or Digize Vitality EO (a blend of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli) to support your digestion, energy, healthy digestion, mental alertness and reduced appetite. Mix it with water and Peppermint Vitality for a rejuvenating infused water, or combine it with honey for a sweet treat.

Drink (More) Water

This should be the Golden Rule for our “desert” life, but we often forget. The average person is supposed to consume around three liters of water daily. If you want to make your water more “attractive” try with infused water or just put a  couple of drops of Vitality Essential Oils in your water:

You can use any Citrus Vitality oils, Peppermint Vitality, Cinnamon Bark VItality, Nutmeg Vitality, Lemongrass Vitality, Fennel Vitality or Slique Essence Oil. For example Grapefruit Vitality Oil, one of my favorite, may help support cravings, a healthy metabolism, energy and abdominal fat lipolysis (not all Essential Oils can be taken internally. Please refer to the Vitality Line approved by the FDA).

Sleep

I know, sounds like a challenge but sleeping is important in order to feel better and it’s also significant for our metabolism and weight control.
If the problem is not your 20-something hard-party lifestyle, but that you have kids and apparently their mission is to slower your metabolism… well then let’s try to fix that problem too. Diffuse relaxing Essential Oils blends and massage them under the feet before going to bed.
These Recipes for the Diffuser are perfect for the whole family:

  1. Sleep Tight Blend: 3 drops of Cedarwood + 3 drops of Lavender
  2. Sweet Dreams Blend: 2 drops of Copaiba + 2 Drops of Stress Away blend + drops of Lavender
  3. Spa Dreams Blend: 3 drops Lavender + 4 drops Lime + 2 drops Peppermint

Exercise

I know that if you are busy and tired, working out is the last thing you really want to do. But it is crucial if you’re trying to lose weight or just want to feel healthier and happier.

Like Elle Woods says, “Exercise builds endorphins, endorphins make you happy, happy people don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.”

Diffuser Recipes:

  1. Move It!: 10 drops of Peppermint + 10 drops of Citrus Fresh
  2. You can do it: 5 drops Frankincense + 5 drops Vetiver + 10 drops Grounding Blend

Also use a small spray bottle to bring along with distilled water and 2 drops of Peppermint to get instant recovery or 2 drops of Thieves to use as a Yoga Mat cleaner!

Relax

Oh yes, there is a Relax moment in this Detox journey too. It is very important to decrease stress hormones so that your body ends up in a more balanced state. So try to find an hour for yourself and prepare for your Spa Moment! Attached some printable labels you might want to use for your homemade products! Download it here.

  1. LAVENDER-OAT BATH
    Ingredients: 1 cup Epsom Salt, 1 cup Oats, ½ cup baking soda, 5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil, 10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil, 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil.
    Directions: grind oats in a food processor into a fine flour-like texture. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and store in a jar. Use about 1 cup of mixture per bath.
  2. SPRING BODY SCRUB
    Ingredients: 5 drops of Citrus Fresh Essential Oil, ½ cup of Raw Sugar, ¼ cup Virgin Coconut Oil, 4 oz Glass Mason Jar
    Directions: Put the Raw Sugar, coconut oil and citrus Fresh Essential Oil into a glass bowl. Mix the ingredients together and put into the jar. Use this to scrub to exfoliate hands and body.
