A few of our favourite things to do in Dubai this week
Need a little event calendar inspo, mama? From the yummy GRK Fresh Greek Opening and Giveaway, TedTalks Screening at the jamjar, to Eataly Cooking Class, there’s LOTS to do before the summer holidays end…
With Dubai being the melting pot of diverse cultures, we are so lucky to have access to a wide variety of authentic cuisines from all over the world (sometimes the only problem is there’re TOO MANY options). If you’re looking for a not-so-ordinary dining option, we have just the place for you! GRK Fresh Greek, a dining concept that has made its way from bustling New York to Dubai, is thrilled to be celebrating the launch of their second restaurant in the Emirate. They’ll be giving away 1,000 chicken Yeeros Pita (yay freebies!) so get there early to grab your GRK!
When: Tuesday, 23 August
Where: BurJuman Centre, Dubai
Can you believe it’s almost the end of August, mama? With back-to-school approaching, it’s time to get our kiddies in style…a comfy, trendy pair of shoes is a must (start from the bottom and work your way up can’t be wrong)! Bring the kiddies to Geox at Mall of the Emirates and you won’t have to worry about the restless littles because they’ll be so occupied with fun-filled activities (think candy bar, balloon artist, hopscotch games & a colouring station) that they wouldn’t want to leave even after you’re done with shopping!
When: Wednesday, 24 August (10am-4pm)
Where: Mall of the Emirates, Dubai
How much: Free for all!
Join thejamjar for second half of their out|side series, a program of conversations, thinking, and films about art outside of its traditional boxes, with an eye to the ways that arts practice and the art industry in Dubai. Get some art inspo from this TedTalk screening with a curated playlist of the most engaging videos about art. Kiddies will be kept entertained as they get creative at the DIY art stations during the screening (how thoughtful!). Get there early to grab a spot and some bites and drinks – Thursday evening sorted!
When: Thursday, 25 August (7:30pm)
Where: Unit H74, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz 3, Dubai
How much: Free to public!
Got a little chef at home? Head over to CitiSpi’s Bumps & Beyond at Wagamama, The Palm where the young ones will learn some handy cooking skills (juicing, measuring, prepping and making yummy noodle dishes!) while mamas catch up over coffee/tea. The mini chefs-to-be will then enjoy the fruits of their labour while mamas enjoy a delicious lunch from a set menu – a perfect hangout spot!
When: Tuesday, 23 August (10am-12:30pm)
Where: Wagamama, The Palm, Dubai
How much: AED 99 – AED119

The little chefs will learn how to create some fabulous coffee-based dessert in this week’s class – who doesn’t want a dessert expert in the fam?
