Eat Like A King (Or Queen!) At Jumeirah Restaurant Week

It’s that time of year again, mamas, when we can eat (and eat, and eat) at incredible prices during Jumeirah Restaurant Week! If you have zero clue what this means and you’re a bit of a foodie then listen up, this is good! From today (5th October) for 8 days (until 13th October), over 40 Jumeirah restaurants and bars will be offering special price menus and drinks so that  you can get to experience as many as you like (all of them?!) without breaking the bank. From noodles to oysters, casual meals to fine dining, loosen that waistband and  prepare yourself for a week of feasting! These are some of our absolute faves to try (a full list can be found on

Shimmers Madinat Jumeirah

Shimmers, Madinat Jumeirah AED 150 Per Person For 3 Courses
Fancy going Greek on Madinat Jumeirah’s private beach with stunning views of Burj Al Arab? That’s just what you’ll get at Shimmers – together with white washed woods, turquoise shades and sand under your feet. Perfect.

Alfie’s, Jumeirah Emirates Towers AED 150 Per Person For 3 Courses
This one’s for all you Brits out there. Being one myself, I’m rather fond of a really good plate of fish & chips followed by some sticky toffee pudding – and that’s exactly what you’ll get at Alfie’s

Pai Thai Jumeirah Restaurant Week

Pai Thai, Madinat Jumeirah AED 200 Per Persons For 3 Courses
Love Thai? Want to arrive at dinner on an Abra? Not only is the food at this Sassy fave totally delicious but the setting is pretty hard to beat too. Green Papaya Salad, Chicken Sate, Red Curry – just some of the scrummy things on the menu, mamas!

The Rib Room, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray AED 200 Per Person For 3 Courses
Elegant, sophisticated, the perfect place for a quiet dinner date with your loved one (especially if you or she/he loves a great steak). I’d go there for the cheese selection alone…

Nathan Outlaw Burj Al Arab

Nathan Outlaw At Al Mahara, Burj Al Arab AED 350 Per Person For 3 Courses
An opportunity to dine at the Burj Al Arab for an insanely affordable price simply cannot be passed up, mamas, especially when the menu has been put together by one of the world’s best chefs and includes oysters, beautiful fish (both on the plate and in a central aquarium) and a Dark Chocolate Fondant (ahhh get me there right now!).

Pierchic, Madinat Jumeirah AED 350 Per Person For 3 Courses
Possibly one of the most special places I’ve dined at in Dubai (think out in the sea, on stilts, with waves crashing and a view of the Burj Al Arab and beaches), the modern European menu is divine and the ambiance heavenly, definitely one for a romantic dinner a deux.

We're social
‘If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘me too’ as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.’ You’re probably aware of the social media campaign that’s tearing its way around the world - women have encountered harassment in all forms and suffered in silence for too long. This is the time to confront the belittlement and stand united. For ourselves, for our friends, our sisters, mothers, daughters - for anyone we know who may be suffering. #metoo
Dubai’s latest beachfront destination @lamerdubai opened today and it’s gorgeous! Currently only first phase open (with more to come) but there are already kids playgrounds, restaurants, cafes, activities, in- waster hammocks, space to scoot and loads more plus it’s so pretty! Had such fun exploring- more on stories! 🚣

Our Editor and her fam headed out to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve early this morning for an @arabianadventures desert safari - a great way to get that all-important dose of nature and see all sorts of creatures, from camels to sand fish, oryx, gazelles and more in a pristine desert environment, and a yummy picnic brekkie too - perfect for when the weather cools or if you have visitors in town! 🐪🐪🐪🐪

Today is International Day Of The Girl - a UN created initiative to ensure more opportunity for girls and to increase awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide - including the right to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, and protection from discrimination and violence. This day is also about celebrating girls and all that females have achieved. We say a huge YES to that and to empowering girls and promoting gender equality today and everyday 💪🏻 How do you find raising girls in a world which still falls back on gender stereotypes, mamas?
