Whether you prefer your turkey early on or want to make a night of it – The Ivy are offering 3 sittings to choose from mamas (and as you’re likely to have been woken up by excited kids at the crack of dawn an early lunch might be just the ticket). Choose from scrummy favourites including the Shellfish Cocktail, Severn and Wye Smoked Salmon or Foie Gras for starters – Roast Turkey served with all the trimmings or Roast Beef for mains and then puds including Sherry Trifle, Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce and Chocolate Bûche de Noël. A Southern US smokehouse take on Christmas – and we mean deep fried turkey injected with creole butter for extra juiciness (this is no time to be counting calories mamas) and other treats cooked slow and low plus the kind of sides we’ve only ever read about in books – candied yams, black-eyed peas, cornbread stuffing followed by sweet potato pie or peach cobbler. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – Christmas on the beach is cool. Fact. Dine al fresco at the RIVA Beach Club where an amazing festive feast awaits and the chance to walk it off on the sand and dip your toes in the ocean follows. We love the Rivington Grill. Not only are they offering a fab traditional menu for Crimbo this year – including all of the faves (turkey and all the yummy stuff that comes with it) but also slow roasted rib of beef or whole grilled Dover Sole and then the most mouth-watering sounding starters, desserts and cheese board – we’d want it all!
