


A few of our favourite things to do in & around Dubai this week
Can you believe the first month of 2017 is almost over? We can’t either, and that’s why we are going to make the most of this week! From British Pub Quiz Night at Reform Social & Grill, Ballet under the Stars at Desert Palm PER AQUUM, to Mongolian Circus at The Dubai Mall, this week is all about art and fun!
British Pub Quiz Night
Get your thinking caps on and join Reform Social & Grill for their weekly Quiz Night. Put your knowledge to the test with four rounds of British themed questions hosted by quiz master Jon Besant. The quiz will cover a range of topics such as general knowledge, sports, and music. Battle it out to see whether you’re British enough to win over rounds of drinks and tasty bites for your chance to win a range of super prizes to be won every week. So get your family team together and make sure they’ve seen all the James Bond movies and know that a Yorkshire pudding is not a dessert!

Ballet under the Stars
You know this week is going to be awesome when one of the world’s most iconic ballerinas, Lucia Lacarra will be headline Ballet under the Stars, an exclusive event to be hosted at Desert Palm PER AQUUM set on the lawn. Being held in association with The Covent Garden Dance Company, Ballet under the Stars will also feature principles and soloists from some of the world’s greatest companies, such as The Royal Danish Ballet, The English National Ballet, Strasbourg Ballet and Ballet Bejart. We can’t think of a better way to start the weekend!
When: Thursday, 26 January – Friday, 27 January

How much: From AED 750 (include a French bubbly reception, a three course dinner, and half a bottle of grape beverage per person)
Mongolian Circus
Packed with excitement, creativity and visually spectacular performances, watch as these remarkable Mongolian contortionists perform an incredible circus show. The lineup includes eight artists performing spinning cube, duo hula hoops and all kinds of crazy stunts. Demonstrating expert precision, flawless techniques, incredible costumes and jaw-dropping acrobatics, audiences of all ages will be left in awe during this Mongolian circus show.

Breastfeeding Support Event
Calling all new mamas! Head over to the Breastfeeding Support Event in collaboration with Breastfeeding Q&A for a breastfeeding support session (and meet other mamas!). The team of Babies and Beyond midwives will also be there to weigh your babies and answer any questions you may have (really) so don’t miss the chance!

Spirit of the Dance
‘Spirit of the Dance’, a colourful crowd-pleaser keeps the excitement going well into the new year. Currently showing three times a day, this is a fast-paced show where 22 dancers spin, twirl, jump, clap and kick to Irish songs with a dash of Western and Spanish moves thrown in for good measure. Usually performed in an indoor theatre for two hours, this stage production has been specially adapted for Global Village audiences and crams the highlights into a 30-minute, toe-tapping performance. Get there early for a front spot because the crowd fills up quickly, mama!
